AMC AMX 1970 Description

I am re-listing this beautiful car thanks to a non-serious bidder. and I have lowered my modest reserve. PLEASE do not bid unless you are prepared to buy and fulfill your obligation to me and to e-bay. Please contact me if you have little or no feedback if you are seriously interested as I have blocked bidders in this category. If you are a collector of fine American automobiles or an AMC enthusiast this may be just the vehicle for you. It is an all-stock. numbers matching original example of a fine American Motors Experimental model. It was manufactured in September 1969 and purchased from Davies Motors AMC right here in San Diego. CA by one of their mechanics (a personal friend). I am the second owner of the car and purchased it from its original owner in 2007. The original paint and interior needed some attention and it went to a local high-end body and paint shop where the factory paint was stripped to the bare metal. primed and painted with the original factory color Bittersweet Orange Metallic two-stage paint. Prior to being primed the entire car was carefully inspected for rust or damage. there is no rust or body damage anywhere. The 360 c. i. . 290 horsepower motor has never been out of the engine bay. The transmission is a Borg Warner M 11-B and has a twin-grip limited slip differential. The original heads have been rebuilt and hardened valve seats installed. A complete 2 1/2" exhaust was added with super turbo mufflers and new chrome tips giving it a mellow but throaty sound. The original factory radiator was re-cored to a three row style that never overheats. The seats were re-upholstered and the carpet and seat backs were also replaced. In addition. the car is equipped with a rare low fuel light in the dash. New BFG radials were added to the original Magnum 500 wheels. The car runs and performs very nicely and has loads of power on its original Motorcraft carburetor and point style ignition. The car has 10" power disc front and rear drum brakes. The after-market Thermo King R-12 A/C is charged and working well. Driver door info: Mfg. Sept. 1969. Body R004496. Model 7039-7. Trim 036F. Paint 79a. Dash plaque number AMX17011. Valve cover tag# 209P09. During the time that I have owned this car it has been in two local shows taking first place in the Orphan Class category of approximately 60 cars. and taking second place in the Stock AMX category at an All AMC show. Photographs do not give this automobile the proper respect it deserves and perfection is in the eyes of the beholder. For this reason. the vehicle is available to be inspected prior to auction end. If you are a serious bidder I would encourage you to come and inspect it. as you will not believe how nice it is and I am confident that you will search for years to find one as nice. I am very happy to answer any questions. I am also including a long-time collection of NOS and used parts in this auction. Some of the items are listed below but there are too many to individually list. NOS hood bar. extra Magnum 500 rim and new tire. low mileage heads(3). original trim rings. complete cruise control set. extra Carter AFB carburetor and stock air cleaner. nbsp;two distributors. timing cover and filter housing. brake rotor. caliper. drum. power steering box. factory service manual. tank sending unit and many. many other parts. Vehicle and California title will not pass until accepted funds clear my bank. Buyer must deposit $1000. 00 within 24 hours of auction close to my Paypal account. In 2008 Hagerty valued these cars as high as $60. 00. If you are a serious bidder on this car you may contact me via phone to discuss (619) 889-6112. Thank you for looking. Chuck
