Buick Skylark 1963 Description
This is a very nice '63 Buick Skylark convertible that runs well and looks great too. This car is a reliable driver and has traveled 40000 trouble free miles in the 10 years I've owned it. This mileage includes week-long trips of 2000 miles or more as well as short trips to the grocery store, tc. It has been well maintained with regularly scheduled maintenance and has always been garaged. When I purchased the car from the 2nd owner, he original 3 speed transmission was toast so I had a TH350 3 speed automatic transmission installed. It uses a floor mounted shifter and drives and shifts smoothly. Due to this conversion, he speedometer now registers about 10-15 mph above the real speed. The odometer also register more miles so I've added probably 5000 less miles to the car. Here are some specifics about this great little Buick:Engine-- Famous 215CI aluminum V-8, bbl carb., uns well, tarts easily, o smoke, ever overheats, ots of power
Trans.--TH350, hifts easily, eliable
Tires--fairly new radials, port spoke well covers
Brakes-- drum all around, aintained regularly
Paint--new 9 years ago, till looks good, nly minor dings and scratches
Top--convertible in fairly good condition, ack window shows a little haze and stitching is aging, as hydraulic opening mechanism with new pump which hasn't been installed yet, open and close the top very easily by hand.
Interior-- fairly new vinyl seats, arpet and doors in good condition, ubber weatherstripping all in good condition
Body--very good conditio, ll chrome is in very good condition also, here is evidence of some rust repair in front fender area in engine compartment, ocker panels and floorboards are solid
Glass-- all original and in good condition
Electrical-- all electrics work well including the heater
As you can tell, his is a ready-to-go great little car. I have only a 4 figure reserve on the car so please bid often. The winner can fly into Charlottesville, A airport(CHO) and feel comfortable driving this car any distance home.
