Buick Skylark 1972 Description

This is a real Buick Gran Sport 350 - the VIN verifies. This is 1 of 645 GS 350 Convertibles made in '72 (there were 656 in '71 -- that's it). These Gran Sports are rare and becoming more valuable and harder to find. If you check Hemmings you will see a handful of GS 350's in the 30-50K range. The GS 455's have increased significantly which is pulling the 350 prices up as well. I was told by the previous owner that the engine is original, ut I have not verified myself so I am selling as non-numbers matching for the engine. Exterior and interior colors are original and have not been changed.
This was a nice car when I found it with no rust and well taken care of by the previous owner. I have invested quite a bit more to make this a fantastic and reliable cruiser. New suspension and steering components make this convertible perfect on the Interstate (it cruises nicely at 75 mph with plenty of power and tight steering). Bench seats are perfect to take the family anywhere which is the reason I bought it. A manual choke was installed to make starting easier, ince this is stored much of the time (started weekly). Though it is a convertible, C is a huge benefit in the summer and it blows cold!
The car was painted in 2012 and looks beautiful. It's not a trailer queen and does have a chip or two, ut the paint really is great. The car was retro-fitted with an aftermarket cruise control that I couldn't get to work, ut I didn't spend that much time trying to figure it out as I don't use it. The convertible top is power and works well with the occasional stick-in-the-middle. It has the typical small leaks here and there due to sitting, ut none are a big deal. This car is a great driver with lots of money invested to make it reliable and fun.
The Gran Sports are becoming harder to find in good shape, nd this one could continue to be a cruiser/weekend show type, r it could be taken to the next level where prices exceed $40K.
