Cadillac Series 61 1941 Description
This is a 1941 Cadillac Series 61This car has a low mileage 346 FLATHEAD with a recently rebuild two speed hydromatic transmission and a new exhaust system. The fuel system is all new including the tank, uel lines, uel filter and rebuilt fuel pump and carburetor. The air filter was originally an oil bath type but has been converted to accommodate a cartridge filter. You can see in the photo that it still looks stock but is slightly altered.
The cooling system is fresh also with a cleaned and rebuilt over sized / large radiator, ew hoses, ew water pump and has what I call a push me pull you fan system. The original fan is in place and an electric fan is on the front of the radiator for those hot California days. The electric fan is hidden by the front shroud on the radiator (See Photo). The car has not had any heating problems so this system must be the ticket.
I kept the stock look for the tires and the wheels. I replaced the old rims with NOS steel. It has stock caps and new beauty rings to finish the wheels. The tires are new Coker Classics, 225/75R15, adial white walls. I'm not one for the thump of nylon bias ply tires.
The 6 volt system has been upgraded to 12 volt.
If you are a purist and want a totally original car, ake note that the items I have changed for reliability can be returned to original simply by swapping parts. The body has not been cut or altered. But if you are at the other end of the spectrum, his car would be a great foundation for your own take on Cadzilla.
The paint looks good but it is not a resent paint job and this is a driver. There are a few chips and small scratches.
The interior is light gray, ts clean and looks good. There is a small hole in the head liner by the back window and some fabric discoloration. I took a photo so you can see what I'm talking about.
There are only three things that have alluded repair at this time and still need attention: the lever for the seat adjuster needs repair, he window regulators and cranks need to be updated or repaired, nd the fuel gauge needs to be hooked up.
The car has a clear title and current registration and is available for inspection. You can contact me if you have any questions.
