Cadillac DeVille 1966 Description
I am selling my 1966 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. I have owned the car for about 5 years 3 were spent restoring it and the last 2 have been spent enjoying it! It is a gorgeous car that gets tons of looks where ever it goes. The car runs and drives very well and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere. It has the original low mile 429 and auto trans that it left the factory with. The first thing I did when I got it was go through and put all new brakes and wheel cylinders on it then I pulled the entire interior out and dyed all the plastic pieces white instead of beige. While the interior was out I took it in to get painted the car already had a very straight body and there was not a spec of rust on it. I had the car painted blizzard pearl which is an amazing color especially in the sun. While the paint wasn’t an extreme show paint job it was still very expensive and the pics do it no justice it really shimmers in the sunlight. Once the car was painted I had a completely custom black and white interior installed that really just finished off the car really nice. Everything was done except the headliner because it was still in great shape. I had the trunk done as well so the car would show off really well at car shows or cruise nights. The car also has a custom radio in it that looks and fits like the factory but has all the new age electronics inside of it with 4 brand new speakers. The Cadi sits on 22” chrome wheels that tuck real nice under the rear fender skirts and has brand new tires with less than 2000 miles on them. Everything on the car works well including the power windows power seats lighting gauges ect. The only things that could use some attention are the A/C which I had tested last summer and the system holds pressure; so it needs either converted to 134 or find someone who can charge it with R12 which is what I was going to do. When they were working on the A/C system the heater stopped blowing all together so I am guessing either a new switch or blower motor I just haven’t had the time to dig into it. I don’t ever use the heat because the car sits in my garage all winter it only comes out when the weather is nice and dry! The other thing I haven’t gotten around to is having the steering wheel restored. It is in good shape with only a few cracks around the outside so I was going to have it done and then paint the steering wheel and steering column white to match the rest of the interior. The wiper motor works intermittently so it could used being replaced but then again I only drive it in nice sunny weather so it hasn't been important. I do have the factory wheels for the car as well with all 4 original hubcaps in perfect condition and they have brand new tires on them with zero miles that I will include with the car. I do use the car as a driver so don't expect a perfect show room car. There are a couple rock chips on the front that have been touched up(good ol Idaho roads). Over all this really is an amazing clean great looking car. I get compliments on it wherever I take it. I love to drive it because it runs so smooth and so quiet down the road. Email me call or text with any questions 208-589-9783. Thanks John
