vehicle condition Exterior The Ebony Black exterior is in nice driver condition. The paint has a smooth finish nice gloss and deep shine. The chrome stainless and other bright work shows well overall. The convertible top is in nice shape and is not dirty or soiled; there is a bit of wear on the right rear of the top and a specific photo of the area below. The top has not shrunken and fits the car well however it must be raised and lowered manually. The rear window is not brittle and has no yellowing. The convertible top soft boot is also included. This Cadillac still retains its original hubcaps which are in very good condition with no major curb rash. The white wall tires appear to have about 90% tread left. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some small spots visible in the photos and other blemishes around the car that were too faint to show up in the photos but nothing that really stands out from about five to ten feet away. I am sure that the car has had some rust repair in the past in the typical areas. We have taken specific photos of the quarters rockers underside and other areas on the car most prone to rust. The frame is completely solid with no rust issues. It appears as if the floor pans have been replaced sometime in the past. The drivers window does not fit perfectly. The exterior of this Cadillac is not perfect but is very nice for a driver and still looks amazing going down the road. InteriorThe Black interior in this Cadillac is in great condition. All of the seats look terrific with no holes cracks or split seams. This includes the rear seats which are often neglected. The chrome stainless and other bright work on the dash door panels and inside the car is in excellent shape. The carpet is in decent condition with the exception of one spot around the edge the right rear seat. The door panels are in nice shape overall; there has been a repair made to the driver's side. Both arm pads on the door panels are not cracked which is a common problem on these Cadillac's; both rear arm pads are in good condition also. The dash is in great condition with no cracks or splits and a couple miniscule repairs. The power seat does not work. The car features and aftermarket radio made specifically for the Cadillac. This means that most importantly the original dash was never cut or modified for the installation; the power antenna does not work. The vent windows open and close manually as the handles are a bit loose which is a common problem on this era Cadillac. The trunk is original and looks good. It appears as if the car still has its original cardboard inserts. This Cadillac still retains its original jack jack base and bumper hook. The car has not been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes whatsoever.
Mechanical
This Cadillac seems to be in good overall mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time runs great and idles well. It drives nice and feels good on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph braking to stoplight going through some curves and shifting through all the gears. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. There are service records from the previous owner for work completed in 2009 totaling over $6500. Also the engine compartment is beautifully clean and nicely detailed as one can see in the photos. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The horn works from both sides of the steering wheel as it should the turn signals work both indicators on top of the front fenders are functional the wipers work and even the fan for the heater blows on all speeds. The right front marker light is out. The speedometer odometer and fuel gauges all work but the temp gauge does not. We have put a heat gun on the car after driving it to confirm that it runs cool and does not overheat. The exhaust on the car is newer but the muffler has been repaired. We do not hear any exhaust leaks and the car sounds good. All of the windows go up and down from the driver's door. We have driven the car about 10 miles and it has preformed quite well during our time; it does have some old car rattles and there may be some bugs that need to be worked out in the future. These 1960's Cadillac's are an absolute please to drive especially with top down on a nice day.Overall Condition
This car is great looking has a beautiful and desirable original color combination and and is a very nice driver. The 1960's Cadillac's are highly prized and very collectible. The 1964 Cadillac turns head and gets A TON of attention everywhere it goes; people really love these Cadillac's with. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a very rare car. Convertible Cadillac's make excellent cars to drive. One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price. We as always would encourage you to take the time to view the car in person if possible. We have nothing to hide that is why we include so many photos.
