Chevrolet Chevelle 1965 Description
Vintage Motorcars is very proud to present this awesome 1965 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle SS.
The Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle introduced in 1964 was the perfect fit between the diminutive Chevy II and the full-size Chevrolet. The new car resembled a scaled-down Chevrolet but established its own identity with distinctive styling cues and a well-designed and roomy interior that was at its sportiest in Super Sport trim. The Malibu Super Sport returned in 1965 with few revisions. Easily identified by blacked-out front and rear trim, Impala spinner wheel covers, extra bright exterior trim and SS badges inside and out, the Super Sport package established Chevelle’s performance image at the outset of the classic muscle-car era, one that would remain undisputed to the end.
This particularly attractive 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS was put through a comprehensive two-year frame-off restoration, and was beautifully refinished in a stunning Ermine White finish that is virtually flawless. This 138 VIN Chevelle SS is straight as an arrow with impeccable door gaps.
The stunning red interior is no disappointment. The bucket seating is near perfect as is all the other interior components. There was clearly an attention to detail, and all work was performed by a true skilled craftsman.
This little Malibu is powered by a Chevrolet Performance ZZ4 small block that will set you back into your seat! If you have never experienced the new ZZ motors from Chevrolet Performance… you are missing out! This extremely popular performance engine puts out 355 HP and over 400 ft lbs of torque. This ZZ motor also features a March serpentine pulley system and a Be Cool aluminum radiator. A little extra power comes from the installation of Hedman headers, and Magnaflow dual exhaust.
The stout engine is backed by a bulletproof Tremec 5-Speed manual transmission. The Tremec TKO transmissions are by far some of the best on the market, and the 5th gear makes cruising long distances to your favorite car shows easier on your wallet when stopping at the pump. Especially when you have a 3:73 gear ratio inside the 12 bolt axle.
Of course power steering and power front disc brakes make for an easier driving experience, and the subtle 3-gauge cluster helps you keep an eye on the specifics.
This is a top-shelf auto that clearly spared no expense, and offered at a fraction of the cost to build.
