Chevrolet Caprice 1972 Description

1972 Chevy Caprice Real Survivor

I am the second owner of this Michigan car from the 88 year old original owner, who worked in Lansing for Oldsmobile, which may explain the low miles.

I purchased this car, as it is identical to my first car that I bought from my grandfather in 1978. This car is in way better condition then that car was in 78. This car has never seen salt. A hard thing to accomplish here in Michigan. It was in his garage unused since 1982. It has 21,450 original miles on it. It has paperwork for all dealer preformed service work up to that point. Mostly oil changes.

When I bought this car it was completely original, so to make it roadworthy I changed all the fluids except rear diff., replaced the tires with Cooper white walls. I saved the originals, which are date coded (see photos). I replaced the ignition parts, except coil. I saved the original distributor cap, rotor, points, plugs and date coded wires. The rear wheel cylinder was leaking and was rebuilt. Brake fluid changed and bled. In an effort to maintain originality I didn't replace the original Delco-Moraine pads and shoes.. Replacing today would involve China parts. This is why the coil was also not replaced.

The weather stripping and window seals are excellent and original. The car was always inside, not exposed to the sun or rain.

This car has complete numbers matching 400ci 2bl with 350 Trans.

I have the original bill of sale, window sticker, owners manual, and GM issued keys.

AM-FM 8 Track radio, Tinted glass, original floor mats, dual exhaust

I have tried to take pictures of everywhere rust or bubbling would occur. There is none.

The 44 year old A/C does not work (haven't looked at it)

The defrosters were fogging the window, so I by-passed the heater core.

The blower motor works

The clock does not work.

If you are the winning bidder and physically come to pick up the car and feel I have misrepresented the car I will return your deposit.

This car is for sale locally so auction may end at any time.
