Chevrolet Other Pickups 1947 Description
click above arrow for video of this 1947 chevy truck running and driving! (if doesnt work try watching on non mobile device like home pc)
I bought this 1947 Chevy pick up truck from a farmer in Ottwa Kansas. He used it up until about three years ago as a daily driver with a wood flat bed on it and a pto that he used daily for his farming chores. I bought it and brought it back to my home here in Iowa and replaced the flat bed with a extra bo, enders, unning boards, nd tailgate I had. My intention was to repaint the truck blue with black fenders but after seeing the original paint on both the cab and box, nd seeing how rust free the cab and front fenders and box where etc, decided to leave it original paint.
This truck would look awsome clear coated or you can take it to the next level and paint it your colors. The floor had some rust so so it had some repair done as pictured and a floor mat was added. The dash and door panels are original paint and look great. It still has the original headliner but it should be replaced.
The engine is a 216 6 cyl with a four speed transmission. The trans still has the pto on it( see video of it as i turned it on to show it works, ou can shut it off by moving the lever on the trans.) This truck drives and runs the way it should with no knocks misses or smoke. I had it 50 mph and it handled the way a 1947 should. It shifts all of the gears and the brakes work off the rear wheels. When I got the truck, did a complete tune up including points, lugs, ondensor, uel pump etc. I put a new exhaust and new brake master cylinder on. The doors open and shut the way they should and the windows go up and down the way they should. The glass is all good with no cracks.
The cowl and fender vents open and shut as video shows. The oil and temp guage work. The seat has the old worn upholstry on it, o I put a new seat cover over it. the speedo was not working. the odemeter glass is cracked and tough to make out, believe it says 46634 but i am selling it miles exempt. The original gas tank is still under the bed but it is not hooked up. I am running the truck of a aux tank in the cab. I have found the vintage windshield sun shade (pictured) old farm tool, nd road flares behind the seat that go with the truck. You will notice there is a circle bracket on each kick panel on the floor where he had fire extinguishers installed. The lisence plate and toppers and dash magnets do not go with the sale as they are part of my personal collection.
This is a matcing numbers vin plate to the title and the title is currently registered and clean 2015. Its ready to go. I have numourous past insurance vouchers that go with the sale as pictured.
I do not want to overcall this truck or undercall it, et the video and pictures tell the story. In my opinion, he strongest points on this truck are that it is a survivor that rides and drives with original paint and very solid with minimal rust. This is a truck that still will need tweaking as its running off a 12 volt system and the original wire harness is bypassed as it was to old to use and the two front brakes should be done.(back brakes stop the truck fine now). The gas tank should also be rehooked up and replaced or cleaned. This truck gets tons of thumbs ups and looks and it is ready for you to hit the floor starter, tart it right up, njoy the heck out of it while you take it to the next level. As everyones opinion of what a daily driver 68 year old survivor truck should be is different, recommend that you inspect it by appointment or hire ebay to do a independant inpsection for you before placing a bid. I require a 500 non refundable paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within thetime frame or before you come for the truck, will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can help recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very resonable. if you have any questions call 563 568 1182 or 563 568 5111.
