It's much more difficult than it sounds. but this sinister Camaro adheres to that formula for a result that's nothing short of spectacular. Featuring modern GM power. a Tremec 6-speed transmission. a modernized body and suspension. and taught upholstery. no piece of this stunning F-Body was left unimproved. Michigan. this sweet F1 is a solid. well-preserved bowtie that sports many attractive modifications. When the car was still in bare metal. functional ducting was integrated in to it ZL-2-style hood and factory quarter gills. Behind those gills. Detroit Speed mini tubs perfectly complemented a custom rear valance. A hidden wiper system was installed behind a smoothed firewall. And. after everything was test fitted. bright red base was sealed in glossy clear and buffed to a glare-inducing shine. When it comes to muscle cars and body modifications. it's best to de-emphasize ornamentation. Too much era-correct bits will make the build look disjointed. and too much chrome just makes everything look tacky. Thankfully. this Chevy's builder did a great job of placing form over function and keeping add-ons to a minimum. At the front of the car. Fesler headlights center a shaved grille above a painted Marquez bumper. multi-function Marquez parking lamps and a custom metal chin spoiler. Above that grille. the aforementioned hood draws the eye to a custom cowl panel and fresh glass that's framed in satin wipers. satin-finished trim and shaved drip rails. At the sides of that hood. shaved fenders flow into factory doors that are dressed in Ringbrothers handles and aftermarket mirrors. And at the back of the car. a shaved valance hangs a satin-finished trunk lock and Marquez tails between a custom metal spoiler. a tucked bumper and custom Lexus exhaust outlets. ENGINEPeer in to the car's body-matched engine bay and you'll find a 6. 2 liter GM Performance Parts LS376 crate motor that twists stout 10. 7 to 1 compression into 480 horsepower and 475 lb. /ft. of pavement-busting torque. Straight from the factory. this impressive mill features an LS Hot Cam. rectangular-port L92-style heads. a nodular crank. powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons. For good measure. the builders added coated Dynatech headers. a custom air tube. KWiK Performance brackets and a beefy aluminum radiator that's backed by a big electric puller fan. And items like a Hydratech brake booster. a CPP master cylinder and Fesler hood hinges add a little form to a lot of function. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONPark this Camaro on a lift and you'll find solid floorpans that frame modern aftermarket components in a subdued coat of Satin Black skin.
