Chevrolet Corvette 1968 Description
BLOWN 427 4SPD 1968 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE ! "Buy it now" or make a offer. This is one very special Vette to me. My friend owned it since 1971 he bought it from his neighbor. I acquired the car from his son last year when he unfortunately passed away. The car has 39. 01 miles on the odometer and I believe it to be true. I have known this car since about 1980 and my friend kept it in his heated garage all the time. He rarely used it. he took it out. to get ice cream or just cruise around here and there. There is a oil change sticker in the door jamb dated. 7/13/91 with 28. 60 miles on it. The engine in the car is not original. it is "date correct" it was rebuilt years ago and has less then 1. 00 miles on it. It was rebuilt to accept a Weiand 871 Blower with twin Holley 800's. I wanted this car for years. nbsp; I finally got it last year. after buying it. I did the following service. I changed the oil with AC Delco filter and Synthetic oil. I drained the fuel. replaced with boosted premium fuel. I went threw the brakes and replaced the front left caliper with a genuine OEM. I bled the brakes and got a full pedal. I replaced the spark plugs. I fixed a couple coolant hoses. Flushed/replaced the coolant. thermostat housing and thermostat. I replaced the battery with a 250. 00 Diehard Platinum deep cycle. I removed custom wheels that were on it and replaced with 15x8. 5 correct rally wheels 255/60/15 BF Goodrich tires. THE GOOD. This car is very original except the engine and stereo. EVERYTHING! on the car works except the clock. All other gauges work. The car RUNS GREAT. The clutch is fine. It shifts. goes down the road straight. has no vibrations or noises. is tight and stops as it should. The vacuum operated headlights pop up fine. The vacuum operated windshield wiper cowl works fine. that is rare! All the courtesy lights work. All the lights. blinkers and indicators work. All the bonding strips are in great condition (area's were fenders are seemed in)The underside of the car is real nice. (It sat in a heated dry garage) No issues underneath at all. all bolts. hardware. exhaust. brake lines. fuel lines. suspension are all in fine shape. especially for the year and mostly original. The interior is VERY clean and in Excellent condition. The seats are updated with leather seats from a 1979-1982. but the car comes with the original seats wrapped in plastic and in great condition. I believe the paint to be original. except It has been touched up in a couple spots. The car comes with lots of receipts. The car comes with lots of original and new parts in box's. YES. The car comes with a 68 hood. it is cut out nicely for the Blower. THE CAR HAS NO LEAKS!THE BAD. The paint is old (mostly original) and is worn. on close inspection it looks dated. which it is. I would repaint this car. but I am selling it. and if I was buying it. I would rather get it like this and see what it looks like before a paint job. There is a crack on the right rear 1/4 of the car. by the bumper. it was backed into something in the garage. check out the pictures(if you can even see it)it is a easy fix. One of the guide pulleys has a very low edge on it. I would replace it with one with a higher lip on it. to hold the large and wide. supercharger belt better. The top is in great shape but has a little mildew stain to it on the outside. that would probably clean up. The chrome coating on the side pipes is peeling. The stereo was replaced with a aftermarket CD player. it has a amp and extra speakers in the rear. it sounds better then original but I would prefer the original one. The handle you push down on the passenger side. outside the car. to open the door. has a lazy spring and does'nt pop all the way up. but it works fine. It has Racing Harness's in it. but I have the original seat belts. The car has aftermarket mirrors on the doors. I have the original mirror. Please note the following. I have the original seats for this car. wrapped in plastic and in great condition. I have a 1968 Hood that comes with the car. it is cut out for the blower. I have box's with extra parts. I believe the miles to be correct. but because I am not the original owner and the car is almost 50 years old. it is being sold True miles unknown. I wont right that in the title. but its age makes it miles exemptI can transport this car to a shipping terminal for over seas or national transport for a fee. I can have the car delivered(on or in a trailer) within 200 miles for a fee. Please ask any questions you may have. I have a clean title. ready to transfer ownership.
