Restore it later……The value will always be there!!!Car had a new GM crate 350 installed not long before it was parked in 2009. so the motor has very few miles on it. and the transmission was taken from a low mile late model Camaro. which have the better bands and heavier duty servos. The 350 is mated to a TH700R4 (4 speed automatic with over-drive). which makes it very "driver" friendly. even on the highway. The motor is bone stock and runs very smoothly thanks to an HEI ignition and a Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor. Other than the motor and transmission. the car is pretty much factory except for a re-paint at some time in its life. The paint is peeling as you can see in the pictures. The floor pans have had some patches in them. as well as the trunk. but overall the car is pretty solid. which is a big deal with these X-frame cars. As the car sits. you can drive it and enjoy it without having to spend any real money on it……. BUT since it is a true SS. if you do decide down the road to restore it. the car will be very valuable when done. and the value of these cars just keeps climbing every year. THIS CAR RUNS DOWN THE ROAD REALLY WELL AND EVERYTHING ON IT WORKS. THE BRAKES ARE ALSO GOOD. AND THE CAR DOESN'T HAVE ANY LEAKS. I WOULD SAY YOU COULD FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME. MY ONLY HESITATION WOULD BE BECAUSE IT SAT FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS. BUT I HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT IN THE LAST 500 MILES OR SO. So many generations of car guys love this style of Impala. it’s hard to go wrong buying one……Especially if it’s a true SS. At one time the car had an add-on air-conditioning system (from Sears?). The parts of the system are off the car. but are included (see pic's). The condensor is missing though. THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BID:1. Floorpans have been patched (see pic's) 2. Trunk has some patchwork also (see pic's) 3. Drivers side quarter panel has some obvious signs of bodywork 4. The over-drive is not yet hooked up. It is about $70 for akit to do it. and it is a pretty simple deal to do. This car only turns 1400RPM at 55MPH. so the O/D isn't needed for the type iof driving I do.
