THIS CALIFORNIA NATIVE 1966CHEVY SHORT BED TRUCK WAS BOUGHT NEW BY THE US FORESTRY DEPARTMENT IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE SECOND OWNER PURCHASED THE TRUCK FOR LIGHT DUTY SERVICES AROUND HIS PROPERTY AND THE REST OF THE TIME IT WAS PARKED IN A BARN. THIS TRUCK HAS SPENT ITS ENTIRE LIFE IN CALIFORNIA AND THE BODY IS SOLID WITH NO HIDDEN SURPRISES. THE BODY AND PAINT - The body on this truck is in over all goodcondition and the floor pans, ick panels are solid, hey look good with light surface rust only. The bed and bed step sides are original to the truck and do not have any old repairs or any damage to them.The inside of the bed is not beat up or overly abused and the original wood bottom is due to be replaced. The metal slats are intact and are in good condition.The driver’s door is original to the truck and the driver door has a light dent in it from over opening in to the fender but it did not damage the fender. The door stop was repaired and the driver’s door does not over open into the fender any more. The passenger door is also original to the truck and is in good original condition. Both front fenders are also original to the truck and I have checked the passenger side fender down low in line with the battery and it shows no signs of rust same with the driver’s side both look good. Both of the front fenders down low where they are usually rusty look nice and dry and do not look like they have ever been repaired or full of body filler. Both of the inner fender wells and the battery tray are original to the truck and they show no signs of damage or rust they look good. The radiator support is also original andit shows no signs ofdamage or rust and will not need to be replaced. The outer rocker panels are original to the truck and they are in good condition with no signs of rust they look good. The inner rockers look solid there are no signs of rust. The body braced are also in good condition and they show no signs of rust. The windshield pillars and upper windshield area both outside and inside are rust free and are in good condition. The top of the metal dash down by the windshields rubber is ingood condition and it shows no signs of water stains or rust it looks good. The hood is in good condition and shows no signs of old repairs or damage. The hood hinges are in good condition and they are not sprung. The floor tunnel and the firewall are clean and rust free. Thistruck has all of its original GM panels andover allthe body on this truckis clean for being original and this truck was not overly abused during its life with the government. This is an original truck and it hassmall dings and scrapes throughout, ut this truck is overall straight and clean. The original paint color was green and this truck was repainted back in the late 80’s and the repaint is showings it age.

THE INTERIOR- The inside of thistruckis ingood clean condition. Thefront seat is intact but the original vinyl seat cover is starting to split on the driver’s side. The original steering wheel is in good condition there are no cracks in the wheel. The original instruments in the dash are in good working order. The sun visors are intact and in good condition. The paint on the door panels is in good condition and the armrest are intact. The heater and blowercontrols are intact and are in good working order.Theradio opening is original and has not been cut. The dash paint is ingood condition and overall the inside of thistruck is clean from top to bottom.
THE MOTOR- This truckis equipped with theoriginal6 cyl. motor that is bone stock. Thistruck runs good and this motor is not a leaker or smoker it is dependable. The motor is equipped with all the original GM factory accessories.

THE TRANS - The transis the original granny low 4 speed manual transmission and it is starting to kick out of 2nd gear while on the road but the rest of the gears are in good working order. The original rear end is a nice tight rear end that does not clunk or howl. When you drop this truck in to gear there is no universal joint clunks or noises.

THE OVER ALL- THE OVER ALL- This C10 short bed truckis an older driver that was well taken care of and was not beat on or abused. The second owner used this truck lightly on his property and when it was not being used it sat in his barn. The second owner stated that the miles on the truck are original but did not have paper work to back it up. When you look at the rockers, ody, edal pads and the way the doors open and close it seems to add up. The front end is nice and tight and this truck steers straight for being a 1966 truck. The tires are old and will need to be replaced. Thistruck is equipped with the original stock springs. The glass is not cracked or pitted and is in good original condition. The original electrical is in good working order and is in good condition. The brakes are in good working order but you should go through them just to be safe. The exhaust is older but is not leaking.The bottom side of thistruck is not under coated from the factory and it is clear to see that it is not a rotted out mess. Thisis an affordable classic truck that is not rusted out.
