Chevrolet Corvette 1970 Description
Great opportunity to get a Corvette at NO RESERVE that you can build to your taste! This is a Corvette that has been off the road from what I can tell since around 1988 as I found an unused registration sticker to the car from that year in the glovebox. It may have been registered since socheck a Carfax if you want specific details. What I know about the car is very little other than what you can see. It was originally a Donnybrook Green Poly and it needs to go back to that gorgeous color! Right now it looks like a child covered up ashag-a-delic paint job with some Krylon white and a general idea of where to aim the spray can. Needless to say the whole car needs to be stripped down as there arelayers of poor decisions heaped upon this machine.
I would say it is pretty much 95% there, t ismissing a front emblem and some engine parts. The engine was disassembled, he heads & exhaust manifold remain but the intake manifold and carb have gone AWOL. It was a recent teardown by the looks of it and the engine is protected by being inside and covered with plastic. This was a tucked away treasure that only until recently was freed from its hidden lair. Unfortunately I have to think the tow truck driver may have decided to keep a few mementos from this rare find which included the top of the engine.
Most of the chrome/exterior parts are just barely attached as someone in the past 2.5 or so decades was deciding to give it the old college try and restore it but I doubt they had the attention span much less the skills to pull that off. So some of the removal process has already begun giving you a head start on your renovation!
The floors are solid and so is the frame, ake alook at the pictures as there is only surface rust, he worst rust spot being on the radiator support which has a bit of rust damage andprobably needs to be replaced and the passenger side upper door frame has a bit of rust on the top that will need to be tended to. Other than that the rest of the car appears good.
Interior is adorned with '70s shag carpet, y guess is that this particular 'Vette either was in orinspired by Corvette Summer and could easily be featured in the next Austin Powers sequel, he carpeting is that, h, roovy. Dash is nice, verall the interior is good other than the jungle that covers the floors. And yes, he seats and console are velour, o comfy! But so ugly.
The good part is that this thing is well worth the effort. It was sold to me as a 1971 Corvette but has since been revealed to be a 1970 Corvette 350/350HP with 11 to 1 compression and a VIN that supports my detective work that it is indeed a 1970. I only can offer a bill of sale as no doubt the title was rolled up into a fatdouble and vaporized many years ago.
I've attached pictures of the engine and the heads to decode thestamping to see if they are numbers matching. If you have any other questions or need more photos let me know and I will be glad to assist.
No reserve so bid what you want. Reluctantly I am selling as all proceeds go to my Honeymoon in Hawaii fund, eez I can already see the writing on the wall…
All the items you see on the trailer are included which includestaillights and the OEM door mirror.
Good luck and please email me with any questions and I will be glad to help out. This is an easy roller and I can assist with your transporter so no worries about it being a non-runner. I can deliver if you are near enough and of course you can pick it up. It is safely housed in my barn so it is out of the elements.
