Chevrolet Other Pickups 1955 Description

Our 1955 second seriesChevy truck, n March 25, 955 the new Task Force trucks (1955-1959) were introduced, old she's a very rare 1955 3800 1ton, pecial order with a 9 Ft step-side bed (only year offered). Between Chevy and G.M.C. only 27 to 34 were special ordered and delivered (told), hese were dubbed " Long Horns", hese 9 ft beds were the orig "Long Horns". Many of the 3800 that were sold / shipped with frame only for flatbed or cargo box and tow truck use, ave read in a couple of other auctions only 2 or 3 are still on the road. Its Vin code # tells he was built in Los Angeles, nd series, 95, roduction / truck number off the line 001827

We call him Frankie after his orig owner, ho's brother-in law is the person we got him from via an estate sale after Mr Frank had passed awa, hen his wife followed about 5 years later her brother handled their estate. From the time Mr Frank passed till she followed, rankie sat in their garage in old town Seattle, nly driven by their grand daughter during short visits.

Mr Frank bought Frankie in 1955 and it was the only truck Mr Frank ever had. Frankie has just over 99,000 Orig miles, nd runs like a fine tuned watch with his orig' Thriftmaster 235 ' overhead valve six-cylinder engine offering 123 (gross) horsepower and a four-speed top loaded manual transmission with a granny gear that climbs like a goat, f your friend ask for help to move, rap a chain around theirhouse and tear it off the foundation and drag it where ever they want.

He's all orig except his 16" 8 lug rims and nice tires (orig were 17" split rims and I've had a hard time trying to find them, ut I suspect the danger of changing them was the cause behind the switch to 16") Still have the orig 17In spar, n it's orig spare tire hanger up under the rear. No odd noise, o wines in his tranny and the clutch shifts just fine, ll gauges and warning light work as they should as do all the headlight, rake, urn signals, nterior light, ipers, rig horn and heater/defrost. Hand brake works fine, nd so does the foot starter. Frankie is not a show truck, ut he is a get in a go truck as he is 99.99%orig.

We sanded him down a while back and a friend prime, hen painted him for me a Almond Satin as close orig as possible ( see orig picture of Frankie, he day Mr Frank bought him home.) the front color is a shade off, ecause he mis-match the primer a tad darker.Idid not paint the interio, nly the running board as Mr frank must had did handy man work, rom the hand /spray paint job he gave his truck over the years ( see picture of Mr Fran and Frankie) aprox 1990. No rust in the floors, ottom of doors need some rust repair (classic plugged drain hole problem) doesn't seem to be much filler on her. New door seals, uel sending unit installed, ront seat is nice but has two small bits of vinyl pulling from webbin, as a small square rust hole on rear passenger fender, ramessolid, ouch of rust under front fenders, asy patc, he bed looks pretty good and wood looks all orig and there from under side, op side has a sheet of plywood on it, orks fine so we've left it.

Needs nothing, ust a new lifelong friend, elling to finish our 49 Willy's. Hagerty insured $15,000 agreed value, itled and licensed 1955 Historical plates, tate of California. Orig owners manual and shop manual, rig owners note, ictures too. Last two that have been on Ebay were listed at $75,000 (45,000 orig miles) and $18,000 semi restored, ot orig. We were approached by a repair shop from the mid west that saw a post I did on some Chevy website and asked if we would sell them our orig 9 ft bed for $3,500 just for the bed, s they had a owner that had a truck that was rear ended and the 9 ft bed was too damage and expensive to repair.

Drive it home ( slower, ton geared) Sold were i, s is condition...Don't waste my and bidders time. NO reserve, tarting bid is a more then fair price, r buy it now at $10,000 so lots of room to fully restorer or just enjoy an original shop truck, ace truck. Don't low ball, o real need to sell, an help load, parked and locked in my shop) any questions call 916-276-6379 leave a question, 'll get back to ya..truck driver .

2,000 deposit with 48 end of auction, ull payment within 72 hours. Bank cashiers check (cashed and cleared, efore Frankie leaves. Check my feedback..NO ne, ember since 1998.
