Chevrolet Impala 1968 Description
The Impala SS 427 was only offered for years 1967-1969
1968 Impala SS427 is one of the rarest Impala models.
Only 1,778 produced including fastbacks, coupes and convertibles.
Exterior features include SS427 hood with itsdome shape and rear chromeinsert, unique fender gills and special " SS 427" badging on front grille, rear trunk lid, glove box and steering wheel.
Canadian Car (St. Therese, Quebec)with GM Documentation, including Z03, and Z24 options.
Notdriven and storedin heated garage since 1991 by previous owner, a2 owner car (Quebec), 38,000 miles, unrestored, rust free, straight and solid.
I'm the 3rd owner and have owned the car for 2 years and drove it for two late summer months and then decided to give the car a cosmetic makeover which took 18 months.
Recently repainted last fall (2015) with correct single stage "R" Matador Red (previous lacquer paint stripped down to bare metal). Trunk has been redone with spatter paint, engine bay black re-sprayed as well as the engine, chevy orange.
Freshened up, all new, carpet, weatherstrips, tires, spare and jack, hoses, gas tank, intake, carb, Patriot headers (short), exhaust, clutch, flyweel, emblems etc. 427 Hi-Perf (3935439) GM "CE" replacement engine, non numbers matching but correct rebuilt 1968 MuncieM20(3925660), and a matching 12 bolt posi (DE) rear end with3:31gears.
The underbody is rust free solidoriginal floors/frame (chassis black).
Chrome and stainless (great shine)is in very good condition, with no rust, fading or pitting.
Convertible top isinperfect condition, no tears, fading or stains. Dash, interior trim, red bucket seats, console and rear seat(seat covers appear to be original to the car) in very good condition. New carpet installed.
Engine bay has been detailed with new correct hoses, belts, clamps, valve covers, and decals.
Overall a rare and desirable Impala and priced to sell at a reasonable price!
