Chevrolet Chevelle 1968 Description

1968 Chevelle SS396, 325 hp, real deal car, true 138 car with matching #s big block 396, power steering, power brake, 4 speed car.
About the car- big block, 4 speed, power brakes, power steering, posi 3:36 12 bolt rear, tuxedo black paint code with white vinyl top, parchment/black interio, bucket seats with console. The car had a total frame off restoration. Frame was sand blasted to bare steel and epoxy coated and top coated GM chassis black, every part on the front suspension was taken apart and sandblasted and painted before reassembly. Frame was checked for straightness by a local frame shop. The car body itself has full quarter panel replacements, outer wheel tubs, full trunk, floor pan was repaired where it was needed. Anything that had any kind of rust was cut out and new steel stitched in place. Doors where great original replacements, hood is original, and deck lid, fenders are both new after market, as well as inner fenders. New bumpers were also installed. The vinyl top was new and installed by Custom Top Shop. All trim was either polished, or replacement trim was purchased, new windshield. All door panels are original, so they do have some minor wear and tear..very good driver quality. All the glass has the factory green tint. The 4 piston brake calipers were sent out for rebuild. Some chrome trim was sent out for replating.
About the engine- numbers matching 396. ..325 h.p. big block. The engine was taken into Borchardts Speed for the rebuild. I have all receipts. Block was magnafluxed, bored out .030, align bored. Heads were also checked for cracks, new valves and hardened valve seats were installed. Camshaft is equivalent to what would have been in a 350 hp chevelle. Stock original cast intake, carb is original style q-jet, newly rebuilt and jetted for the cam change by national carb. Original style pertronix billet distributor, electronic ignition. Non original New aluminum radiator.
Transmission- M21 Muncie trans, was bought rebuilt, however I don't have any receipts to prove it...that's what we were told. The gears did look all new when I had side cover off.
List of new parts for the build..I have all receipts-
Brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tank, fuel sender unit, parking brake cables, all rear brake component, all front brake components, new front coil springs, all shocks, tie rods, ball joints, all bushings in control arms, u joints, power steering pump, body mounts, carpet, seat upholstery, seat belts, hurst completion shifter and linkage kit, tires, stock exhaust system, complete fire wall front wire harness. I sure I'm missing stuff but that's what comes to my mind off hand.
The car only has a little over 100 miles on the rebuild, so somethings will most likely need some fine tuning and adjusting as more miles get put on it. The front end has a fresh alignment.
Things it needs-
I have not bought a radio yet, although it has speakers installed, windshield wiper arms, the speedometer is around 7 miles off (reads slower than your going) so it needs a different speedo gear, the gap on drivers side fender to door is slightly larger than the passenger side, drivers door hasa small chip in paint on the leading edge from fender installation it has been touched up, the Hurst shifter stickthat is in there will need to be swapped out..it hits the console in 4th gear and sometimes bumps in the road will pop it out of gear because of that. Hurst shifters dot com has many different shifter sticks to choose from, the brand new power steering pump seems to make noise, I will include the original one with the sale..im am not sure on the working order of it, it spins freely.. I just put a new one on because every thing else was new, yesI removed the trim data tag.. the top plate cowl plate was replaced..I just used pop rivets to put it onquick so I would not loose the tag, other than that it is a verywell put together car..it's not concours car, but an extremely nice driver..something that can be enjoyed and shown off. I havepics of theframe offresto as well.
Clean title in our names, State of Wisconsin required us to get a surety bond for the title transfer. Car was previously titled in Illinois. If you are unsure what asurety bond is please contact your DMV and ask, it is a perfectlygood transferable title, which was verified by law enforcement that is was not stolen or any leins placed on it. The original title that is signed by original owner was basically mis- assigned. And the only way Wisconsin DMV would issue atitlewas with a suretybond. Any questions on it pleasefeel free to email me.
