Chevrolet Corvair 1960 Description
Up for sale is my wife's great example of a rare first year 1960 Corvair 700 Coupe in Roman Red. Mostnotableupgradesinclude newlyrefurbishedinteriortastefullydone tocomplimentthe rest of the car a swap to the more powerful 140hp flat 6 and a Powerglide auto transmission. I bought this car out of California for my wife as a gift. I have owned and enjoyed a number of classic VW's and this was a dream car of hers that jived well with that aircooled experience. Myself taking on a new job and the fact that we just bought a house has kept this great little car sitting far more often than she should hence the sale. The car gets more compliments than most nay car I've owned and there is an endless amount of stories per fuel station of 'When I was a kid' wherever you go. The color inside and out is extremely eye catching and overall the car is in very good shape for a 50+ year old machine. I personally searched for over a year to find this exact car and was very selective in doing so. It will need new starter (ordered one) general 'spring cleaning' and once over tune up etc. Has mostly sat since last fall. Starts runs drives steers stops. Battery is kaput may replace this in time will send with new one. Starter was getting moody toward last fall then was parked for season in the garage and battery died. Drove to shows and on weekends last summer with no issues. Some bubbles in paint but beautiful ten footer and gets tons of comments. New retro style stereo needs hooked up. Overall an excellent car with huge potential and a model that will certainly climb in value anddesirability. True american icon of a car for several reasons ;)Showroom pictures are of the actual car in CA before I purchased it. Almost all other pictures were taken within the last few weeks. Some production stats on the 700 Coupe:Model NumberBody/Style NumberBody Type & SeatingFactory PriceShipping WeightTotal ProductionCorvair Series 500 - Six-Cyl500694 dr Sedan - 6P$20382305 lbs47683500272 dr Club Coupe - 6P$19842270 lbs14628Corvair Deluxe Series 700 - Six-Cyl700694 dr Sedan - 6P$21032315 lbs139208700272 dr Club Coupe - 6P$20492290 lbs36562Corvair Monza Series 900 - Six-Cyl900272 dr Club Coupe - 5P$22382280 lbs11926Selling as-is. Deposit due as stated in listing non refundable. Listing local and therefor reserve the right to pull the listing if sold. I’m willing to help coordinate shipping and sort of familiar with the process so it should go smoothly. Shipping expense is buyer’s responsibility. Paid before it goes of course. Please ask me any and all questions before you bid if needed. I am a completely candid straight forward guy and will be glad to do my best in making you comfortable with the purchase. We want to see this car off to the right home and genuinely care about the next owner’s positive experience buying and owning her. Expected pick up within 4 weeks of purchase or will charge storage of $10 daily beyond 5 weeks. I'm not a jerk so I will be reasonable about holdups with notice; however I can't care for the car beyond 4 weeks without making arrangements.
It's an outstanding car and a true experience that we will cherish having owned it. Best of luck.
