I'm offering for sale, to the highest bidder, a cool old '57 GMC Truck. This truck belonged to the same owner on a western Kansas farm, from 1984, until they recently updated to a newer truck.
When I picked this truck up, it had been a year or two since it had been used. I stuck a battery in it, primed the carb with a squirt bottle, and it roared to life! That being said, it will most likely need the typical things old vehicles need - general tune-up, fluids changed, fuel tank cleaned, battery, and some brake work. The master cylinder was dried out and will need replaced. The engine does sound pretty good, and carries good oil pressure.
As for the engine itself, this truck originally came out with the Pontiac V-8 of the era, but this one has been converted to a 4bbl small block Chevy. Previous owner told me it was out of a 64 Chevelle. I'm guessing a 327? As you can see, the body has a few rust spots, but is overall pretty darn solid. It does have a hydraulic dump bed that I have not tried, although I'm sure it works as previous owner said it does. All in all, this is a great start to a project, whether it be a restoration, a rat rod, or even a cool old car hauler.
