Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1977 Description
Runs and drives, the 305 runs strong with a little hesitation and is equipped with a Holly Carb, not sure if it is 2 or 4. Plenty of rust everywhere, and I mean everywhere along with bondo. Vehicle was recently shipped from New York and belonged to the last owner for at least 38 years. Odometer shows over 76,300 miles and I believe it may be correct judging from the records that were kept, but not entirely sure. The engine does smoke upon start up, the automatic transmission does have a little slip & shutter in first gear however, shifts well through the rest of the gears. Does have a oil leak along with a transmission leak. The doors do sag quite a bit however, open and close properly. All of the weather stripping is rotted and needs to be replaced. The door panels are loose and move when the doors are slammed shut and the drivers side door pull strap is not secured. The front seat is worn and does have some tears, and rear seat is complete and the entire interior is moldy and dirty due to the moisture. The power windows do work however, they are slow, the shift gear indicator does not move. There is a rain water leak that comes from behind the dashboard onto the floor and the floor pan is rusted through and will need replacing. This car is in need of a total restoration however, can be a drive able project. The drivers side kick panel is loose. The A/C is all there however, does not work and the lower floor A/C duct is hanging, needs to be secured. The exterior and interior have been worked on by a amateur and is pretty rough with spray painted vents and the dash pad is cracked in a few areas. There is plenty of bondo and spray paint throughout including the painted rims. This car is road worthy and did pass it's last New York state inspection. I had the intentions of a full restoration for this car when I had it shipped from New York however, just can't find the time or a place to store it. Needs tons of TLC and is a drive able project considering that it stops well and drives straight down the road with no pulling, I am not sugar coating any of the description and being very honest. There is a whole bunch that I do not know about this vehicle because I have only spent around 30 minutes of total drive time. I do not want any disappointed viewers, this car runs however, it is RUSTED!!! There are no warranties that come with this vehicle and is as is where is, will cooperate with your shipper. I do hold the right to end this auction early if the vehicle sells locally. Thanks
