Chevrolet Corvette 1960 Description

Tired of all the same 1960 Corvettes? Obviously that was a joke because most of us would trade body parts for a vintage Vette. But this one is a standout even in a crowd of standouts... and for a lot less money. This convertible has an unmistakable body that makes it look mean. The racing strips numbers and naked wheels announce that this Corvette came to compete. It's this kind of prowess that makes the car attract far more attention than the perfectly restored 1960 Corvettes and this one is half the price! But there is a more practical side too. This Vette has not gone on the complete racer's diet. So it still has the mountings for the included hard top and the trunk is intact to make sure this classic can still go on all the road trips you want. Regardless of how you use this car it still has all the great 1st generation Corvette hallmarks such as two-tone paint fender lines and toothy chrome grille. In fact not only was this the last model year for that grille but this was also the last time the Corvette would have the sculpted rear end with subtle tailfins.Inside is one of the most honest cars that has spent 55 years on this earth. The black on the dashboard door cards and vinyl seats complement the racing stripes on this roadster. Just like the outside there is the right amount of chrome touches to be a nice reminder of post-WWII American style. The instrument cluster is original and as intended from the factory the interiors of these Corvettes fit drivers like a glove. The bucket seats are armchair comfortable without being too bouncy like the sedans of this era. The three-spoke steering wheel is thin but knobby for a great grip and easy control without the intrusion of power steering. All of this go-fast appearance needs to be backed up with some real power right? This Corvette doesn't disappoint with a tuned 327 cubic inch V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Plus there are extra performance goodies like Hooker headers a GM aluminum intake manifold and a Holley double pump carburetor for constant fuel delivery under hard acceleration. The result is rated at 365 hp a 26% jump in power over the hottest 283 cubic inch production motors offered in the 1960 Corvette and even a bit more than the 327 V8s in the final versions of this generation. All of this extra grunt is put to the road through a 4.11 rear end with GM's Positraction. It gives this solid-axel car a sure grip and quick take off quick from the line. Best of all despite looking like a racetrack veteran this classic has never been entered in competition from what we can tell. So it hasn't lived a hard life on the track and instead has just been spending the last decade or so running around the Carolina hills. This Corvette is now at a crossroads. It can be ideal for the street or the road course. No matter which way you go this is a classic roadster you can jump in today turn the key and go for a cool cruise. It won't last so call today!
