Top FlightFeatured in Vette MagazineCorvette Order CopyOwner’s ManualOriginal KeysOwner HistoryMost Corvette aficionados know the legend of the LT-1. Introduced in '70 and built through the '72 model year, his was considered back then as the best all-around Shark ever built. And this still holds true today! Take a base Coupe or Convertible, dd in a high revving solid lifter 350ci small block featuring many hi-performance and heavy duty components, ncluding solid lifters, eavy duty starter, orged TRW aluminum pistons, 1:1 compression, our bolt main cap block, uftrided crank, pecial hi-lift cam, igh rise aluminum intake, olley carb, affled oil pan, nd transistor ignition. Also included were larger capacity components not found on the base 350, uch as a larger rad, i volume oil and fuel pumps, nd 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Add in a close ratio M21 4-spd transmission and you're ready to do battle on the track . . . or street!
For 1971, s part of an effort to meet new incoming government emission requirements, ompression ratios were lowered to 9:1, esulting in a reduced 330 gross horsepower. Also, 971 was the first year that the LT-1 could run on unleaded gasoline. In 1972 engine ratings were reported as an SAE net figure of 270 horsepower, ut otherwise the car remained relatively unchanged across the board.
The LT-1 featured here is one of only 1,949 built in '71. It's most definitely special in that this is basically an all original, nrestored example. However, t first and second glance, ou would think it was an order frame off restored car. It's that nice throughout! So nice that it was featured in Vette magazine way back in '90! But, t still looks the same today. There's something very unique about an original Corvette. They just feel different . . . in a good way! No matter how well you restore one, ou just can't duplicate the way an original Corvette runs and drives. And the rising values for an original car reflects that fact! Adding to the value of this beautiful LT-1 are the great docs including the Corvette Order Copy, wner’s Manual, riginal keys, wner history and it’s an N.C.R.S. Top Flight! You just don't see original examples like this one very often and they're getting rarer every year. So, on't miss your opportunity to be the car's next care taker!
