Chevrolet Other Pickups 1958 Description
1959 GMC 100 Shortbed Stepside 30K Original Miles California Time Capsule
Submitted for consideration is true California survivor GMC 100 shortbed stepside manufactured in 1959 with I believe ONLY 30K ORIGINAL miles.
Repeat ONLY 30K OG miles.
Exceptional example of a time capsule preserved original 1958/1959 era California GMC truck.
All I have done to unit was to use compressed air to dust interior/exterior for my pictures below to show her well preserved condition.
Can you imagine what this truck would look like with a proper detailing.
You will have a tough time finding a 1959 GMC 100 SWB as complete/unaltered/stock with no significant rust or body issues I assure you.
Original rubber mat & original interior paint even under the floorboards!
I'll let all my high resolution pictures below do the talking.
NADA retail for a 1959 GMC SWB truck is Low $6593.00. Good $18000.00. Excellent $35730.00.
Unit comes complete with it's original dealer engraved keys, clear California title, nbsp; owners manual, extra set of split rims & GMC hubcaps, & OG California black & gold plates.
This fresh desert find is pictured on my car trailer with some matching 1970's Chevy steel rims & tires. Original Chevy/GMC split rims are available to the winning bidder.
FYI this 1959 GMC 100 was purchased new from Bob Smith Buick/Chevrolet in Ridgecrest, 93555 back in 1959. I was told that the original owner only drove unit to work since purchasing new from Inyokern, 93527 to China Lake NAS which is about 22 mile round trip.
Unit was built in Oakland, California according to it's VIN numbers pictured.
Comes complete with it's original 270ci (6) cylinder motor which ran & shifted perfectly when parked according to consignee. Has three (3) on the tree SM318 manual column shifting. Shifts in all gears perfectly. Clutch is strong with plenty of spring pressure. Frame underneath is VG.
I used some paint restoration fluid on the exterior body. Original Dover white WE5710 paint is fairly dry with some expected patina.
VG unrestored unaltered original (2) tone Arctic blue & Dover white gloss interior with a correctly reupholstered bench seat.
Cab corners, rocker panels, & underneath door bottoms are ALL rock solid & California dry. NO repairs, rust issues, pin holes, or other surprises.
Exterior body is VG has NO bodyfiller/bondo or repairs just a couple of creases here & there.
Bed is STONE mint & has NO dents, dings, or damage whatsoever which is pretty darn rare indeed.
Rear SWB frame was extended back then for a camper shell which protected both the wood bed, inter bed sheet metal & tailgate. Missing it's original GM radio (darn it) & one 2X6 bed stringer pictured below.
I assume this unit will need fuel tank clean out, some type of carburetor service, spark plugs & wires, points & condenser, distributer cap, ignition coil, battery, fluid changes, brake bleeding, fluid changes, & typical TLC from sitting 32 years so be aware of these stated facts before bidding. Sold as is where is as pictured.
Please note: Zero/low feedback bidders will need to contact me prior to bidding. Non refundable $500.00 USD paypal deposit is due within (24) Hours of your winning bid. Your full/completed payment is due within (7) days of winning bid. I can store unit for up to a month unless other arrangements are made.
Feel free to call/text Mike @ 760 264 3988 for any questions/info you may need between 12 to 7PM PST
This 1959 GMC 100 SWB is located up in Bishop, Ca. 93514. Google it for your shipper info.
Shipping can be arranged by a transport company of your choice or you can trailer her home which should be pretty darn easy as this truck WILL fit on any 12' foot Uhaul car trailer because of it's short wheelbase. I can help with loading.
Thanks for looking & good luck!
