Chevrolet C-10 1972 Description

Hello GMC / Chevy truck enthusiasts . What you are looking at here is my 1972 GMC shortbed fleetside pickup . Not really wanting to sell this truck but my shop is full to the brim and i have no where to keep it . i dont want to see it sit outside all winter. This truck is a " MUSCLE " Truck in every sence of the word. It is equipped with a standard deck 1969 427 " Caprice / Impala " big block chevy . backed by a th400 with a 3000 stall . coupled to a 12 bolt with a 4:56 posi . The previous owner told me the engine was right at 11:1 compression and boy does it sound good . I can get the head numbers for anyone who wants them . i will tell you they are the correct oval port 427 heads original to the block . i just cant remember the number off the top of my head. They are set up with roller rockers . stud girdles and poll locks . It has a wieand Team G intake with a newer Holley HP Series 830 Carb . I bought the carb this summer and upped all the jets and shooters . I also added a 50cc accelerator pump to the rear " This engine likes its fuel" . Truck has new side glass . rear tinted slider . all windows roll up and down . This is a manual brake truck and manual steering . Also . in its former life it was a drag truck so there is no heater or AC . The body is very very straight . The truck is filthy in these pictures and needs a bath badly . The paint is in good shape . Flames were added after by a previous owner and are " So So" . The underside is in fine shape with surface rust . It would greatly benefit from being put on a lift and undercoated . It had new rockers added at one time . all of the floors and braces look great with the exception of the surface rust. Truck has a nice set of low back bucket seats . B&M Pro stick . rubber floor . old blazer console . tach and a fire extinguisher. The fuel cell and Battery are both located in the bed . a Holley blue electric fuel pump feeds the big block . I have a folder full of receipts for stuff like the newer Convo Pro wheels . tires . grill . bumpers etc. This truck was a purpose built drag truck built for Super Pro for the 1/8th mile . After its racing career . the lexan windows and single bucket seat were removed and it had all new glass and window felts added . The slicks were replaced with street hides and a very very Wicked Street truck was born . The Exhaust on this truck makes it . hands down the best sounding vehicle i have ever personally heard . it sounds amazing . In Short . here is a hard to find 72 short bed fleet side gmc Hotrod that will litterally make small children hide behind their mothers when it fires off ha ha . Not just small kids either . My wife got in the truck when i first got it . After a rolling burnout through third she wanted out and refuses to get back in it ha ha ha . Trust me fellas . when you step on the gas you cant help but grin ear to ear . Check out the youtube video i took of it today . below. Now for the BadThis is not a Barret Jackson show truck . It is a nice little hotrod truck that DEMANDS attention where ever it goes . If the bright yellow flames on gloss black does not get their attention . then the crack of the 427 certainly will " from 5 city blocks away" . The bad about the truck is it is going to need the transmission rebuilt . Its not slipping or anything but i does not want to shift from 2nd to 3rd . the 1-2 shift is fine and after warming up for 30 minutes or so . the 2-3 shift will work but i have not driven the truck since August and she has been sitting . So Count on having the trans rebuilt before spring time cruising . Also . a new steering box will need to be installed before to long . It has alot of slop in it . driving around town . cruising mainstreet you will never notice it . but get it out on a country road and it likes to wander . the adjustment is ran all the way in on the box and it is going to need one before to long . The only other problem is it needs the brakes Bled . I replaced a rear wheel cylinder back in june and bled them . I was in a hurry to take it to town so i gave it a quick bleed and headed out . I have driven it all summer no problems but some folks might not be use to it . It could be an amazing truck with some cleaning up and fixing some things. None of these are severe problems . Like i said . i drove the truck all summer with that steering box and the brakes . The brakes are not bad by any means . But they are Manual so a quick pump just like any of the old manual brake trucks and then its got pedal . The transmission is the main area that will need attention . Payment and bidding terms.
