Dodge Charger 1968 Description
1968 Dodge Charger 383 with 727 numbers matching project. Will be adding more pictures over the next 24 hours, please review all accordingly. Overall I would call this an excellent candidate for a restoration. Underneath the car is extremely nice, exterior of car has the usual Charger issues but actually this car is much better than the others I've restored over the years.
Motor starts and runs after sitting for a long time. Was not stuck or anything like that. Installed a new fuel tank, new fuel pump, new starter, new HEI type distributor, newercarb, etc. It starts but I have not driven the car as it has no brakes.
Car is excellent underneath in the frame rails, torque boxes. Floor pans are very good with only 2 small locations that I see need repair (perhaps 3"x3" and 5"x3"). Trunk is usuable as is, center section over fuel tank needs an 16" x 12" patch and there is some issues where the original seam sealers and rubber was, but again I don't feel I would replace it just patch it. Around the rear windows looks pretty good with small patches necessary and there are a couple holes on the top of the rear quarters near the trunk. All common areas, nothing out of the ordinary compared to all the Chargers I've messed with. Lower quarters could be filled as is, or do the lower patches, front of quarters look good. Needs a new front passenger fender, I believe the car was hit on the right front fender as thefender on the car is not originalto the car and it is rusty, and I would do a new hood although the one on the car is original and usable. Front and rear valances are easy to replace too.
Please note that this car needs a full restoration. Do not expect a diamond in the rough here, expect a very solid project that starts and runs and could easily be put into a drivable condition. I know these cars well, serious inquiries and bids onlyplease.
Again will be adding additional pictures, please review and ask any questions. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks again and happy bidding!
