Dodge Challenger 1973 Description
I'm selling my 1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye 2 Dr Hardtop Coupe. it's a great driver -- looks and sounds awesome. Car is currently on the road. registered. insured. and inspected. I'm selling to fund two other car projects and get some space in the barn. The car is in excellent condition. and has the following specs: When through rotisserie restoration in 2011 -- body is truly in excellent shape New paint -- plum crazy color - original plum crazy car 340 V8 -- not numbers matching. but is the Era correct and preferred 1970 340 motor - higher HP/Torque with the "X" heads 4 Bbl carb Headers w/ dual exh Do not know cam specs. but very "cammy" - high lift and duration cam. lots of overlap 4 Spd manual transmission w/ Pistol grip shifter Air shocks in the back New wheels -- completely clean. perfect chrome. no rust New rubber all around Brakes are in excellent shape Interior new -- seats in excellent shape. new seat belts. headliner. etc. High performance dash pkg - full gauge set up w/ 150 mph speedoHood latch pins New vinyl top -- perfect condition All lights and signals work Hvac works 3 spd wiper motor set up w/ new wipers and wiper transmission parts Chrome is excellent shape Grill is in excellent shapeWhat needs to be addressed still? - Good news is that the car is 100% solid. but there are a handful of small "nicky knack" things which should be addressed:1. The vehicle needs (2) door locks. Trunk lock is good. 2. The wiper motor is the upgraded 3 spd motor. but came with the 2 spd wiper arm. and sometimes pops off. I have a new 3 spd arm for install. just haven't gotten around to installing it yet. 3. Last week I went to apply the ebrake in the dark. and accidentally caught the ebrake release latch and snapped it off. replacement of the 8 inch latch will be simple - 5 min job - ebrake itself worksThe other item I'd like to be clear about is that while the previous owner who did the restoration badged the car as an RT. the car is actually a Rallye. 1972 was the last year for the RT upgrade. in 73' it was the Rallye. so the car does have the upgrades - ex. has high performance dash and the higher 150 mph speedo. plus all the gauges. but again it's not an RT. If you're a purist I'm sorry. but if you just like the way the car looks and don't care how it's badged like I do. then as long as you know the full story then shouldn't be a problem. Again - just full disclosure. With that said. this car has been one of the best cars and most fun cars I've ever had. car never fails to get attention. fun to drive. and drives excellent. I'm sure I'm leaving out quite a lot. Haggerty's values this car in #1 condition is valued at $48k. at #2 condition is $36k. and this car is better than a #2 -- but not quite a #1. Valuations are subjective. but just trying to give some context. This car will also continue to appreciate in value. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. and for any reason. I also reserve the right to remove bidders who have negative feedback within the last 6 months. or have less than a (3) rating. Buyer is responsible for any/all shipping costs. taxes. etc. . and the vehicle is sold with no warranty of any kind - expressed or implied. it is sold in "as is" condition. I have additional pics which can be sent to those interested. This has been a great car for me. so I hope it goes to a good home. it will be a great car for you as well. Happy bidding!!
