Dodge Charger 1970 Description
Hi! Thanks for Looking! For Sale my 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. The car is a real R/T. and the fender tag includes fy1 Top Banana Yellow hi impact paint. V24 hood treatment which is the organisol hood stripes. 440 callouts. and hood pins. I know it is cosmetic. but last I looked the 70 Charger registry only had 11 cars with the v24 option. Car was built in December 1969. Also has longitudinal stripes (not bumble bee). AM 8 track (missing). 440. auto. 8-3/4 rear end. The original engine and trans are long gone. I do have the fender tag (pic). and the serial number is on the radiator core. It was hard to get a good pic of the radiator core serial number (rough pic) but it does match the VIN. I never found a broadcast sheet. and there is no tag on the driver's door. although I don't know if all 70's have a door tag or if that was mid-year? mileage is in excess of the odometer listed miles. Engine is a 500 inch fire breathing stroker built by Nick Wilson/Compu-Flow here in Ohio. It has an Eagle crank and rods. Ross flat tops. a Hughes solid lifter cam . 622 intake and . 642 exhaust. The valves need to be adjusted periodically. depending on use. Iron full race port 906 Heads. Holley Street Dominator and a Holley 950 cfm carb. Hooker Super Comps. tti Walker exhaust. Engine uses a Milodon dual line external oiling with a Hamburger's Pan. center link goes through it. Wizard Cooling aluminum 4 fan radiator. I'm just guessing. but I estimate 600+ hp. Transmission is a 1966 case with Cheetah reverse valve body. and JW 10 inch 3000 stall converter. Stock shifter with Duncan Shift-r-gate. Car also has Wilwood Front Manual discs. and a Flaming River fast ratio Manual steering box/coupler. Underneath is Magnum Force bolt-in frame connectors. a custom Denny's driveshaft. Also has 80's Super Stock springs and snubber. Rear is 4:88 gear posi. It does have stock axles though that should be replaced. Body - The car does appear to have new quarter panels on the rear as well as a new trunk floor - see pics. It is an older restoration. maybe 8 years ago. Metal work was done prior. I painted it around then. The car looks great and gets lots of attention. but it is not a Barrett Jackson type super car. Would make an awesome cruiser or race car. or even a restoration depending on what you want to do. I have noted any condition issues that I am aware of in pics. please look carefully before bidding. There are a couple of bubbles at the bottom and behind the doors on both sides (pics). If you look real hard in the right light you can see the 1/4 seams where they were welded on/replaced. but very difficult. One of the front frame rails has some minor very fixable damage. see pic. The rest of the frame rails all look awesome. Floor are original. The lights/blinkers all work although the headlight door motor does not. The wiper motor works but is not hooked up to the linkage (hard to find wiper lever is there). I don't think the back up lights work. The rear window moulding is loose. I think the clips are not in correctly. I see no damage in this area. Car needs some attention to details. Most of the Electrical has been rewired to accommodate battery in trunk. relays for fans. fuel pump. water pump. ignition system (ACCEL 300+). headlights are on a relay. All major power does not go through the dash harness. and has been wired custom with circuit breakers. I just have too many things to do. and none left for the car. I know it will be hard to believe but true - I have never raced this car. I built it originally to do that. but my kids hate car shows and love travel ball. I have driven it to work a few times each summer (10 mile trip) and that's about it. It does run best on 50/50 race gas/unleaded. but will run on 93. If you have any questions or want pictures of anything I didn't get call or email me! I have tried my best to show pictures of anything I would be concerned about. I will do my best to answer. sometimes email is best for me. 216-832-1795 Damonhttp://youtu. be/UFvX8cjV-lE5 minute youtube videoOn May-02-15 at 06:53:46 PDT. seller added the following information: Hi!
