1970 DODGE CHALLENGER CONVERTIBLE 340-6 PACK R/T TRIBUTE Rotisserie Restoration Completed in 2008 By Previous Owner 76. 35 Challengers where built in 1970 and only 3. 84 of that where convertibles 963 R/t convertibles and only 12 hemi convertibles. Back in the 30’s Chrysler had a parts division for servicing Chrysler products which was named Chrysler Motor Parts. As the years went on the name was shortened to Chrysler MO PAR. By the 1960’s there was only one word that encompassed all 3 brands of Chrysler. Plymouth. and Dodge……that word was MOPAR. And for the people loyal to the brand it became. “MOPAR or NO CAR. ” There are NO EXCUSES for the 1970 Dodge Challenger. A design that has been iconic not only in 1970. but even in today's Challengers. With the right ingrediants these cars had risen to almost a half million dollar price tag or even higher. For that reason only. thats why tribute cars have become more and more desirable. What makes this a very rare tribute car is the low production numbers of only 3884 in the E-Body convertible. If this was a true RT Convertible. production numbers were less then 1000. Some of these cars are inestimatable. Please study the many pictures provided of both the car in its current state and during its restoration. The car is truly amazing!!!! EXTERIOR: This 1970 E-Body Dodge Challenger RT Convertible Tribute is dressed in Banana yellow with a real steel shaker hood and the ever so popular "Go Wing" with a flip top gas door access. A full rotisserie restoration was started in 2006 and completed in 2008. The paint was cleared. color sanded and cleared again. The underneath also received a full media blasting and was painted the same color as the body. All floors. rails and subframes are solid. The body is straight and the engine compartment is also painted the same color as the car. There is no fender tag. The car was also built as a driver and has been driven and maintained since restoration. There is a slight chip repair on the trunk that I wanted to mention. Nothing serious but it has been touched up since the chip happened. The top has also been replaced at the time of restoration and is still like new. The brightwork shines excellent and all the glass is clear and intact. The factory wheels have been replaced with Weld Wheels. The trunk is solid and complete. has no spare tire. Please view the pictures and let me know of any questions you may have. INTERIOR: As you can see from the pictures the interior presents very well. Some components have been replaced as other are original because of the one model year production(no reproduction parts). The interior received new legendary seat covers and door panels. new carpet. dash pad. Dash component's are original and some detailing to those components will really make the interior pop and really stand out at local shows and events. The radio does not work. however all gauges and lights work as they should. In summation. the interior presents very well. Some minor tinkering is needed for pure show quality. Please view the pictures and let me know of any questions you may have. DRIVE-TRAIN: The original 318 set up has been removed and a 340 Block with 6 pack (3x2bbl) carburetor set up was installed. The engine was built with a mild cam set up. It also comes with power steering and power brakes. The automatic 727 transmission was also built with a mild shift kit and it is lined up with an 8 3/4 sure grip rear. All belts and hoses are road worthy and ready for show or go. The tires and brakes are ready to go. The 340 pulls hard and runs right and the shifts are crisp. The drive train has been detailed and is ready for show or go.
