Dodge Coronet 1966 Description
Selling my 1966 Dodge Coronet Convertible 440 model, 1 of 231 ever built classic car, a great opportunity to own this very rare numbers matching classic car that drives and performs very well. This is a driver, not a nut and bolt restoration, it has only had 1 paint in 50 years and was painted CC1 Light blue. A rare two tone light and dark blue interior with a rare dark blue convertible power top.
This car has power steering, power drum brakes, power top, 2 speed wiper motor. This car is a true head turner and multiple show winner, it is insured for $ 30,000 Canadian. I still drive and enjoy this beautiful classic car today however I have too many cars and projects on the go and this beauty must be sold. Overall, I was told by a judge and appraiser that this car is a solid 8 out of 10 for its originality. The car has typical blemishes for a 50 year old car that has never been fully restored. This car comes complete with full documentation 2 Build broadcast sheets, a certicard, fender tag and glove box original dated vehicles first dealer maintenance.
This car was built in the US, St Louis and spend most of its life in Florida and was driven in good weather and never driven in Snow. It was always stored in an indoor garage, never outside. It has been in Canada since 2007 from what I was advised from the previous owner.
Recent restoration work: 2012 the engine and transmission was removed from the engine bay and were detailed in the original 66 colors in addition a coat of Clear coat was used to seal the paint. All engine bay, and parts were sand blasted and painted in the CC1 Light blue and shows extremely well and period correct.
Documentation: 2 broadcast sheets, fender tag, Certicard and maintenance sticker in glove box.
Drive train:
Engine: 361 Cubic inch 2 Barrel Big block, Numbers Matching and Rebuilt 2005
Transmission: 727 Automatic Numbers matching Rebuilt 2005
Differential: 8 and ¾ Sure Grip 3:23 Gear numbers matching
Paint: CCI 1 BLUE, good condition
The original color of this car was White and was painted over 20 years ago in Light blue, still looks very good.
VIN: WH27F67…… Real Coronet 440 Convertible, built in the St Louis plant with a big block 361.
Interior: The interior has the original carpet from 1966, original back seat and door panels, front seat was re upholstered in 2010, and overall, the interior is in good condition.
Wheels: BF GOODRICH Radial TA tires bought new in 2014 mounted on the Original period correct 14 inch Steelies and finished in CCI Blue with the correct Dog Dish caps.
Trim and glass: All trim and glass is original and in good shape for 1966, the trim has never been restored, shows some pitting and age for its 50 year span.
Conclusion: This is a very good driver that drives and shows very well, it has won a few awards at shows and a true head turner, a very rare car that I still drive and insure today, I have driven this car hundreds of miles to car shows and never had any issues at all.
