Dodge Coronet 1966 Description
1966 Dodge Coronet 440 body style 2 door hard top with possibly the original 318 motor and 727 automatic transmission. Originally a California car so it has very little rust and has a very straight body. This car hasn't been started in over a year and has been sitting in the garage away from the weather. The last time it was driven was around October 2014. The car was a daily driver for several years in California but since I moved to Illinois in 2005 I only drove it 50-100 miles a year up until the end of 2014. I tried to start it once winter was over approx April 2015 but it wasn't getting any spark from the coil and I haven't tried to start it since. I've had this car since 2002. The person that had it before me said the motor was never rebuilt but he did rebuild the transmission. The motor has smoked for the last few years and leaks a lot of oil and would need to be rebuilt (very bad oil leaks). Unknown on milage since the odometer doesn't work well. The gas tank has a crack and leaks when filled more than half way. The trim from the trunk was removed and will go with the car along with the hubcaps. The trunk has rust holes shown in the pictures. The driver side fender was replaced due to being hit while parked. There is a dent on the front bumper driver side from it and small dents on the grill. Passenger side door has a dent that has some rust. There is a rust spot on the back window. The windshield was replaced and the headliner was new in early 2000's. I believe the interior, xcept for the headliner, s all original. The guy that had it before put the holes in the doors for his speakers, would never do that! The front seats have cracks and the top of the back seat is cracking. I don't know how anything looks under the carpet. I don't feel any rust spots and the car was never driven in the snow or salt here but I can't say for certain there isn't any rust. The picture of the car on the driveway was a previous picture to get a better look at the front. All other pictures were taken now. Since the car isn't starting I have limited space to take pictures so I tried to take as many as possible to show how straight the body is. The original key for the door broke so I replaced the lock on the driver side. The passenger side was never replaced. The passenger side window is stuck and will not roll down. This car is sold as is with no warranty and it is unknown if there are any other issues with the car. It would be a nice project for someone since the body is straight.
