Dodge Challenger 1970 Description
The first thing I'd like to point out is there were approximately 53000 1970 Dodge Challengers built totally. Only about 150 of those came with the N96 SHAKER HOOD option thats about 1/4 of 1 percent! Out of the 150 how many were 440 6 pack 4 speeds & how many of those still retain the "born-with" numbers matching engine tranny build sheet rear end orig. fender tag orig. body numbers & orig. door VIN decal?? This car has been in dry storage for a long time! It is a true time capsule but needs restored. I get the impression that this was an excellent Shaker car that got parked when the gas crunch hit a teenager got ahold of it for a short very hard-lived period until it took a light hit in front & was parked again (no structural damage from the hit. It shows 55600 actual miles now & I'm sure that is original. The hood was replaced a long time ago with an original correct hood & it's in good shape! This car is missing the shaker hood trim ring hot/cold air doors bubble grills radiator radio & grill (I never got these items). Along with the 440 6 pack 4 speed 3.54 Dana 60 rear N96 Shaker hood this one came with power steering power 11" brakes rally gauges hood pins "flip-top" gas cap rally wheels dual chrome ext. mirrors chrome exhaust tips AM radio rear speaker stripe delete F8 green exterior F8 green interior no console (thank god) etc.. There is rust in the lower rear 1/4'ers I would replace the fenders there's a couple spots of rust in the inner fenders the framerails are very solid throughout we recently removed the carpet & the drivers floor has a rust spot under the pedals there is some pitting in the grooves of the trunk floor but overall its very solid I would not replace it. It must've been the second owner that added the traction bars (why?) The carbs are vintage Direct connection items that each have accelerator pumps part number 4782 & 4783. The interior door panels & seat backs are in excellent condition the buns of the front seats have a couple splits the windshield got broken at least 25 years ago The original dashpad has a split by the speaker. The car rolls free the tranny goes smoothly through the gears the engine spins free & still has clean oil from a long time ago. The car is in Lincoln Nebraska right off I-80 I can provide custom enclosed delivery or arrange delivery for you. Feel free to call or email any questions. Paul 402.202.2263 This weekend (May 30-31) is the "Mopars in the park" show in Minneapolis I'm not planning on taking a car but delivery to the show this weekend is possible.
