Dodge Coronet 1968 Description

1968 DODGE CORONET 440 STATION WAGO, BLUE (REPAINT FROM GOLD) BLACK INTERIOR.

FIRST LET ME SAY I DESPISE RUST-- HATE IT, THIS CAR HAS TWO RUST SPOTS, THE RIGHT SIDE COWL IN FRONT OF WINDSHIELD (ARENT ALL MOPARS LIKE THAT) AND THE RIGHT SIDE BACKROOF PILLARBY THE TAILGATE- NEITHER ARE FATAL, THE REST OF THE CAR IS PROBABLY THE MOST UNRUSTED ORIGINAL I HAVE SEEN IN 30 YEARS, DOORS, LOWER PANELS,FLOOR BOARDS ETC ARE SOUND, END OF STORY.

WHEN I GOT THIS IT HAD A 318 4 BBL/904 TRAN, NOW IT HAS A '78 440 WITH 727 TRANS.

I TRIED TO FIND AS MANY ORIGINAL PARTS AND PIECES I COULD TO MAKE IT RIGHT.

IT HAS THE CORRECT HI-PO EXHAUST MANIFOLD, UNSILENCED CHROME MOPAR AIR CLEANER(NEW) AND OTHER TRIM ITEMS, TRANS WAS INSPECTED -RESEALED IN GOOD CONDITION (4 GEAR PLANATARY),HIGH STALL RV CONVERTER (STOCK).

ENGINE WAS FROM A '78 MOTOR HOME- VERY CLEAN AND LOW MILES (48k), NEW CHROME PA, OIL, PUMP AND PICKUP WITH WINDAGE TRAY. NEW CHROME VALVE COVERS AND TIMING COVE, NEW FRONT CRANK SEAL, NEW ALT/PS BELTS.

NEW ALUM WATER PUMP HOUSING,USED MOPAR PERFORMANCE INTAKE MANIFOLD (ALUM) CORRECT AVS CARTER 4 BBL CARB, WITH NEW KIT, MALLORY DUEL POINT CENTRIFUGAL ADVANCE DIST. NEW SPARK PLUG WIRES /SPARK PLUGS -ALUM AFTER MARKET RADIATOR, NEW UPPER/LOWER RADIATOR HOSES AND HEATER HOSES. EXTERNAL TRANS COOLER.

NEW(REMAN) POWER STEERING GEAR BOX,REPLACED BECAUSE OF LEAKS.

ALL FRONT SUSPENSION BUSHINGS,UPPER CONTROL ARMS, BALL JOINTS, STEERING IDLER, STEERING ARM ARE NEW. JUST HAD IT ALIGNED. NEW FRONT BRAKES (10 INCH DRUM) I'D RECCOMMEND GETTING NEW HUBS AS SOME OF THE WHEEL STUDS ARE LOOSE IN THE HUB,PERHAPS THEY MAKE OVERSIZE STUDS?) BETTER YET CONVERT TO FRONT DISC BRAKES WITH NEW HUBS.

NEW BRAKE MASTER CYL, NEW FRONT BRAKES. THE CAR HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE NEW INTERIOR AND CARPETS- IN THE CAR WHEN I GOT IT.

THE CAR WAS FACTORY AIR, THE COMPRESSOR AND CONDENSOR/LINES MISSING WHEN PURCHASED -THE FACTORY AIR UNDER THE DASH LOOKS TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION NOT ALL RUSTED LIKE MOST BUT NO WAY TO KNOW ITS CONDITION, MY PLAN WAS TO REMOVE THAT, INSTALL A FACTORY HEATER/DEFROSTER AND GET A NEW UNDER DASHAC WHICH ARE AVAILABLE FOR $1100.. -MUCH CHEAPER THAN TRYING TO REPAIR ORIGINAL..I GOT A HEATER/DEFROSTER CONTROL PANEL FOR IT AS WELL (USED), IV'E BEEN BUYING PIECES FOR IT I'VE FOUND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. THERE WAS NO RADIO IN THE CAR -IT HAD BEEN REMOVED.

I FOUND A FACTORY HEATER/DEFROSTER FOR IT AND INSTALLED A NEW FAN MOTOR FOR IT.-- THE UNIT NOT YET INSTALLED IN THE CAR.I HAVE AN NOS WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FOR IT AS THAT DOES NOT WORK EITHER, ALTHOUGH IT WORKED WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR? FIGURES. , FINDING THESE PARTS WAS A LONG PROCESS AND EXPENSIVE.

SOME GAUGES WORK, SOME DONT, HAVE A NEW SPEEDO CABLE FOR IT-NOT YET HOOKED TO THE SPEEDOMETER WHICH HAS THE INDICATER STUCK AT 45 MPH- I HAVE ANOTHER SPEEDOMETER/GAUGE PANEL NOT INSTALLED.

NEW DOOR WINDOWWHISKER KIT (PARTIAL)I HAVE MECHANICAL OIL PRESSURE AND WATER TEMP GAUGES FOR IT- INSTALLED HOLD 80 LBS OIL PRESSURE.

I'VE BEEN BUYING PARTS TRYING TO MAKE A GOOD DRIVER OUT OF IT NOT A SHOW CAR. GLASS IS ALL GOOD, WINDSHIELD A LITTLE CLOUDY AROUND THE EDGES (NEW WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES).

THE TIRES ARE NEW!!! THE FACTORY WHEELS LOOK GOOD BUT THEY ARE ORIGINALS AND NEED CLEANING & TLC.

DOORS CLOSE & LOCK WELL, TAILGATE OPERATES NORMAL REAR WINDOW IS ELECTRIC AND OPERATES WITH DASH SWITCH BUT NOT WITH KEY IN TAILGATE. HEADLINER FROM REAR SEAT BACK IS OUT OF CAR. EVERYTHING I HAVE PURCHASED TO DO THIS PROJECT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE CAR, IT CAN BE DRIVEN AS IS. EXHAUST IS ALL HOOKED UP. NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO SAY ABOUT IT. THE PAINT IS SO -SO WILL BE OK TILL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG. WITH YOURTALENT AND TIME THIS WILL BE A VERY NICE DRIVER. I'VETRIED TO REPRESENT THIS ASBEST I CAN ITS 48 YEARS OLD NOTRESTIOREDAND WILL HAVE ISSUES TO DEAL WITH-DON'T THEY ALL?

THE CAME FROM THE VERY ARID AREA OF SOUTHERN CALIF- SAN DIEGO AREA WHICH ACCOUNTS FOR THE LACK OF RUST ISSUES. THIS WAS TO BE MY DRIVER FOR WEEKEND FUN HOWEVER RECENT DISCOVERED HEALTH ISSUES (IM 75) SAY THIS IS NO LONGER FEASABLE. CURRENT CALIFORNIA TITLE IN HAND. YOUR WELCOME TO COME AND VIEW THE CAR AT MY HOME IN BUFFALO,MISSOURI 417- 733 0322

I REMOVED AND REPOSTED THIS AD AS I WANTED TO (AND DID) INSTALL THE MECHANICAL OIL PRESSURE AND WATER TEMP GAUGES , OIL PRESSURE @ 80 LB', TEMP NORMAL.
