Dodge Charger 1966 Description
You are looking at a no expense spared restoration of a classic survivor! This 1966 Charger was purchased two years ago from a gentleman in Omaha Nebraska. The car was completely rust free, still has most of its factory undercoating on floor pans and frame rails, and had about half of its original paint left on it when I took delivery, The car was a time capsule, everything I removed to redo the carpet had never been touched. The list of work done to this car is lengthy:All stainless exterior trim was polished and any imperfections removedAnodized ridge trim was stripped, any imperfections repaired, and polishedAll exterior badging replaced to include Charger scripts, arrows, front and rear medallions, and Charger 383 4Bbl emblemsNew taillight surround and new tail light lens (Over 1800 dollars)New "J" ChromesNew "C" ChromesBumpers rechromedNew dual exhaustNew rear leaf springs and front and rear shocksEntire front end rebuilt (over 1700 dollars)New 75R14 tiresOriginal spinner hubcaps refurbishedNew seat belts including rechroming bucklesRefurbished wood steering wheelFront bucket seat foams replacedFront door panels recovered with correct OEM vinyl.Instrument cluster rebuilt (by me, The Gauge Doc)New dash bezel, lenses, and glovebox doorNew solid state headlight relaysNew brushed aluminum inserts on consolesNew front and rear armrest pads and basesNew windshieldFactory AC recharged with R-12, blows ice coldNew AC vacuum switchEngine has less than 10K miles since complete rebuild, have paperwork from previous owner. I believe this to be the original engine based on the block cating date, but since no VIN's were on Mopars until 1968, I can't be positive. This is a 383 4 BBl VIN coded car.Headlights rotate faster than my other two Chargers!Car was stripped to bare metal, small dents fixed, then blocked and primed 3 times, then acid etched primedFollowed by correct Silver Metallic basecoat/clearcoatColor sanded and buffed, show quality paintI did not have the underside of the trunk repainted as there are still the factory grease pencil markings showing tire size, 775WW
I own 3 of these cars and we are moving this fall to Texas from Arizona. I don't have to sell it and will not take low-ball offers. This car is one of the nicest 66 non Hemi cars out there and has been painstakingly restored to as close to factory original as possible. It runs flawlessly and is fast! This color combination was used in the first 1966 Charger ads and was the roll out vehicle at the 1966 Rose Bowl! This vehicle is sold AS IS and there are no warranty's stated or implied.
I hope to find someone who loves these first gens as much as I do. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
