Ford Mustang 1968 Description

1968 Mustang GT/CS

California Special

This 1968 Mustang GT/CS is a real California Special Mustang, ot a clone.

VIN: 8R01C155771, egistered in the 1968 Mustang GT/CS Registry.

This GT/CS is from my personal collection and is straight, olid and very dependable. It is painted Metallic Copper with black stripes, nd has black interior. The seats are in excellent shape as is the carpet. New dash pad. The paint is 10+ years old and shows its age, ut is very presentable and a real head turner. There is paint blistering (3 in. x 2 in.) on the right quarter panel at the rear of the wheel well opening, ut the back side of the metal is solid, uggesting it is superficial. The car is nice and straight with no known body filler.

This car was original with a 289-2V, speed transmission, ime Gold exterior paint and Ivy Gold interior. (see attached Marti Report) As you can see, his is all changed. This car is exactly as I purchased it in 2006 and I do not know the history of work done or ownership. I used to drive this car daily and the underside shows many years of driving. The tires are decent, ut should be replaced. With new tires, would feel comfortable to put my daughters in this car and let them drive it anywhere. I am selling this car only because I had a left foot injury resulting in a partial amputation which makes it difficult for me to drive a manual transmission car. The car tracks straight with no known issues with the front end, owever, do have new upper and lower control arms and spring perches I can include in the sale.

It has the following:

289-4V. Non-numbers matching. Ford Top loader 4 speed transmission with Hurst Comp+ shifter. Headers (unknown make).

Ford AM-FM radio with Kenwood 3x9 Speakers in the rear package tray. Works well.

The car has manual brakes and manual steering.

The front drum brakes have been replaced with 1967 4 piston Disc Brakes. (calipers rebuilt in 2013)

The car runs nice and cool and I have never had issues with overheating.

I installed a tilt steering column as I am 6’04” and needed the tilt so my leg would not hit the steering wheel when using the clutch. I have the original fixed column for the car which will be included with the car.

New Group 24 battery.

All GT/CS fiberglass is original and in excellent shape.

Original Marshal Fog Lights (non-working) I checked the circuit and all is working up to the lights, ulbs are burned out.

If you are looking for a good solid, traight, ependable GT/CS Mustang, his is a car for you. I welcome and encourage any inspection of this car. If you have any questions, ou can reach me at 530-346-six six 04. I am in northern California. Ask for Mike. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the car is for sale locally.
