Ford Mustang 1966 Description

HISTORY: I accepted this exceptional 1966 Mustang from a neighbor about 1 ½ years ago to store and help sell. My neighbor was a VHF (Very High Flyer) for Boeing until his retirement. He has been a Mustang collector and enthusiast and this is the last one of his collection to be sold. He has owned this particular one for about 15 years. His approach to maintenance and restoration is very detailed and exacting and this car shows it. I have had several occasions to drive the “Stang” and my experience (and yours) will confirm expectations. On his latest return to Seattle we finished detailing the engine bay but the interior was left as is. He has given me a “Special Power of Attorney” to sell the Mustang and will provide clear Washington State Title immediately after his approval of the transaction. You have your choice: I can provide immediate delivery of the Mustang to your door, ou may use your own shipper, r you may drive it home from the current location. This would be absolutely great for a late summer vacation. CONDITION: After personally driving and examining this car, would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Although there is no guarantee that I or the owner will provide, have driven many cars across country I had far less confidence in than this one. Plugs, ires, oints, ap have been replaced. All driveline components are in good/excellent shape. See the itemization below of the owner's maintenance and improvements. All mechanical components seems to be functioning properly: transmission shifts smoothly, rakes (drum all around) work well, o untoward noises come from the drivetrain, nd everything seems reasonably tight on this car. Doors close well but have normal wear on the hinges; door button on right is a bit of sticky; there are about three small rock dings in windshield; there is “normal” rust showing along bottoms of door skins and front and rear fenders, oth sides. This is “Seattle rust” and not “body cancer”. I've only included a couple of rust pictures of the total since it's about the same both sides and virtually non existent elsewhere. Front bumper chrome is fair, ear bumper excellent; carpet is showing in some areas (not yet needing replacement); a paint blotch up on fender. There is a minor leak from a failing seam at the firewall. This is a common problem with these Ford manufactured cars of this age. The repair is usually not worth the cost. The remedy here is an easily attached plexiglas plate over cowl vent. The car can be taken to classic car meets and shows well as a “daily driver”. I've taken over 55 pictures and can provide photographs of any areas you need to examine more closely.

HOW DOES IT DRIVE: I was pleasantly surprised by the around town torque of the engine. The thrill of a strong pony car is still there! It tracks straight and true and will maintain Interstate speeds. Steering is tight and the ride is not “wallowy” by '60's standards. One starts to dream of a road trip along Route 66 though Tucumcari eastward and stopping by the inevitable small town classic car meets along the way. Just don't try it in the hot southwestern summer. Having currently a show winning restored '67 Cougar XR 7, find this little Mustang doesn't give away anything in drivability. It will be great as a daily driver AND for the Sunday drive down to the local car show at the Issaquah XXX Drive in Root Beer Stand.

PAYMENT AND DELIVERY: I have a certain amount of discretion in negotiating the selling price and delivery. Once essentials of the transaction: price, ayment and delivery are agreed approval will by sought from the owner and the signed WA Title overnighted for delivery with the car. Bel-Kirk Mustang, local Mustang retailer, an provide an independent third party inspection if necessary. I'm in a position to deliver this by your choice of conveyance to most of the US and some of Canada in the very near future.

Although not a perfect car, the strengths, oney and time put into bringing it to this condition make this an exceptional classic '66 Mustang. This is truly a “Buy it, rive It and Enjoy It” vehicle. My delivery trip across the US is as soon as August 17. I can oversee a long trip checklist so you can fly in and drive away. TO DISCUSS THIS MUSTANG, OUR REQUIREMENTS AND FOR ANY ADDITIONAL PICTURES, LEASE CALL: (256)734-5078. I plan on marketing the car locally, t the Hemmings website and on craigslist so the car may be withdrawn from listing at any time. Overseas buyers, all anytime at your convenience and don't worry about middle of the night calls.
