Ford F-100 1976 Description
Hey classic truck enthusiasts. /p>I am reluctantly selling my 1976 Ford F100 Custom "Mean Green" because we are moving out of state and do not wish to transport this bad boy along. I purchased the beast back in 2012 when I returned home from Afghanistan and have put plenty of effort into making it run strong. I found it on rustfreeclassics. com. a classic truck website that brings west coast rides to the Midwest. I've included a link below to the original listing (and price) that I found it on. You'll get all the details from here about the truck. http://rustfreeclassics. com/Ford/76F100SWB_Green. htmBelow are some of the repairs/improvements I've made since buying the truck:New brake linings. rotors. and calipers installed - 2013New remanufactured carburetor (2-barrel P/N URM-7-7442) installed from Summit Racing - 2013Racing steering wheel installed - 2013New starter and solenoid installed - 2014JVC CD player installed - wiring needs checked but doors and dash speakers are decentSome issues that need to be addressed:The previous owner drilled into the bed along the back drivers side in order to install large bolts that would hold the 33" spare wheel and tire. I removed this as he must not be aware of dynamic instability due to vibration modes incurred when a large mass is added in an unbalanced way. If you're new to an old classic like this. you need to learn about the neutral safety switch. Luckily. my friends at CarX helped square the issue away and you won't have to worry about not being able to start it in park. The gas tank inlet has a hole in it. so I like the previous owner have used a large funnel to ensure fuel does not spill onto the ground. obviously it can be fixed by replacing the tube. but I just never made it that far. Additional perks:The Mean Green Machine comes with a spare wheel and 33" Big Foot tirePrevious owners installed a reserve gas tank onto the truck that is activated from a toggle switch in the cab under the dash on the drivers side. not sure but its probably 5-10 gallonsI look forward to any questions you all may have and hopefully someone finds a new classic they've been looking for. It really is a stunning truck. with hardly a spec of rust and only 107K miles! That's less than 5K miles per year :). So happy bidding and good luck!
