Ford Thunderbird 1966 Description
1966 Ford Thunderbird Towne coupe. 390cu in 315hp. power windows. power locks. A/C 96k miles and the famous tilt away steering and sequential turn signals. I have gone completely through this car. I have owned it for about 2 years and have been restoring it from the start. I do not like to cut corners so I don't this car is in excellent shape and looks great. Every thing works as it should except the AC which is all there but is not charged and is missing the belt. I have not looked into what it would take to get this running AM radio. and the clock. I have a second AM radio that is suppose to be good but I have not tested it. The suspension and brakes have been restored. I have installed a heavy duty sway bar for better handling. the original sway bar will come with the car. Front seats have been recovered. new carpet. and headliner installed. new weatherstripping. paint is about a year old with a slight pearl looks like the original color with a little extra pop. The body shop took it down to bare metal before repainting. All rust has been cut out and new metal welded in. Area's that were repaired are lower drivers door and the lower rear quarter panel in front and back of the wheel and the passenger front floorboard replaced. There is very little filler in this car. Body is solid. paint is not perfect but very presentable. Original door panels have been refurbished and look very nice. Most of the exterior chrome parts have been redone or replaced this costs a lot of $$ and you don't see many T-Birds with good Chrome. This is between #3 and #2 car! Hagerty classic car values it at $10. 00 #3 - $14. 00 #2 my starting bid is lower than that! This is a great cruiser that starts right up runs great and looks cool. I have a lot more invested in this car than I am asking but I need to sell as I don't have the time. space or $$$ to keep it. I have many pictures of the car before. during and after repairs if interested in the process and techniques of repair. Just ask I can send you a link to my Google file with over 100 pictures. I do have this car listed locally for sale as well for $12. 00. I reserve the right to end the auction if I get cash in hand.
