Ford Ranchero 1979 Description
For sale a 1979 Ranchero in very good condition. Thepaint has a deep shine - the previous owner saidthis vehicle had an $8,000 paint job. It has some small paint chips but no dents or major scratches. Some of the aluminum trim is oxidized and worn- but the chrome on the bumpers make them look like new and overall it looks great. Since buying this vehicle last June for $12,800 - I've made the following improvements:Had all four tires replaced withnewDunlop raised letter sport tires - less them 200 miles on them;Purchasedred Ford center caps and installed forall four wheels;Bought a rim and new spare tire and jack as the vehicle was missing these items;Had thefuel sending unit replaced;Had thesport mirror adjusting knobs connected - so they adjust remotely; Had the shock absorbers replaced; Replaced the voltage regulator; Replaced the alternator; Replaced the windshield washer pump; Replaced the starter solenoid and fuseable link;. Replaced the steering wheel;Replaced theturn signal switch and front turn signal sockets;Purchased and had two rear bumper guards installed; Purchased and installed four stainless steel tie downs for the bed; Purchased and replaced some interior trim which was scratched and missing air vent vanes; Installed LED lights so the courtesy lights come on when a door is open - the red spot on the floor of the driver's side in the picture is the beam of a red LED; Added a Marine Corps Grill Emblem(shown in the picture) butreplace this week with a Ford Grill Emblem.
The vehicle is now a solid driving vehicle and while not a show vehicle looks better than most Rancheros of this model year. And I get comments upon it being one of the best looking Rancheros each day that I take it out. Since I bought it in June it's been kept in an underground garage and driven sparingly. Most of the miles I've put on it have been to get parts for it and have minor issues fixed. I'm selling it because I have too many vehicles for someone who drives less than 7,000 miles/year.
The odometer is only showing 17,045+ miles; but since it's an antique the odometer may have been around at least once. I've had no problems with the drive train; and after replacing the fuseable link andstarter solenoid have not experienced any starting issues. Not having a lift - I took some pictures with the Ranchero on a slight incline in the wash rack of the parking garage where it resides to show how great the under carriage looks.
ThisRanchero is being sold As-Is. There is no warranty what-so-ever.Buyer is responsible for shipping the vehicle and needs to pick up the vehicle in Arlington, VA or arrange to have it picked up. A $500 no refundable deposit is required within threedays of the sale. Virginia does not require vehicles over 25 years old tomeet emissions standards -this one has never been tested while I owned it. You may want to check your state regulations to see if they are similar to Virginia's for older automobiles before bidding. I suggest, if possible, bidders make an appointment to view theRanchero before bidding.
It'sa bargain at the Buy It Now Price, since I have about $15K in it now. If you have questions not answered in this listing about the Ranchero please forward them to me. Thanks. Good luck in bidding on your next vehicle. Vehicle is for sale locally, so this auction may close early.
For those in the Washington, DC area this is a great color combinationto show your support for the local NFL team!
