Ford Other Pickups 1946 Description
Here's a decent original 1946 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup. Has the numbers matching 100HP 239 Flathead V8 and 4 speed manual transmission. Original paint, seat, seat cover, very nice headliner, kick panels, etc. I replaced brake shoes and brake wheel cylinders, some brake lines, fuel pump (added a fuel filter), both water pumps, both belts, radiator, head light, defrost hoses, windshield wiper, passenger side windshield glass, drivers side door glass, startersolenoid, some wiring (most is original and in good shape), cleaned and gapped points. Flushed original fuel tank. 6 volt positive ground electrical system w/new battery. New oil, oil filter, fluids in transmission and differential. Greased all fittings. I removed engine and transmission, took apart, inspected, cleaned and reassembled. Nice original paint on engine and transmission. Starts great, runs beautiful, drives good. Good exhaust. Bed floor is original with hardwood slats under the metal floor (have original flyer, that will go with truck, advertising how Ford made the bed floors on these pickups in 1946). Tires are old, but hold air and have got me to and from without issue. Original hubcaps, including the spare. With new tires it should be a dependable driver. Clutch is good. Shifts good (with the normal Ford double clutching). Brakes work good. All glass is good. All gauges work. All lights work, including blinkers. Heater and defrost work. Horn works. Windshield wiper works, Currently registered with clean title. Driven often on short local trips. We are about 8 miles to nearest town, and it's made the trip with no problems. Fun to drive. Some rust (surface & through), with patched areas (couple spots on floor, fenders, running boards, box sides, etc.) Added rubber floor mat. Contact with questions.Pictures should show condition fairly well (use zoom feature).Looks good. Was initially planning to fix all body issues and repaint, but after doing some cleaning and buffing, the original paint looks pretty good the way it is. Couldn't get myself to take away the originality. Once taken away, it's gone for good. Not a bad looking original 46, especially that Flathead V8, looksawesome. Cleaned up great, and runs as good as it looks. Underside is good also. Just the normal surface rust and gunk. Frame is good with no rust through or repairs. Contact me with questions or if you need more pictures. This truck came from Northern Minnesota, and looks to have been stored inside and not driven much in the winter. Two maintenance stickers on door jam, one from 1954 and one from 1961. My guess it wasn't driven much after that, based on the miles shown. Don't know any other history. Buyer is responsible for arranging transporting/shipping and all shipping cost. I will be here to help with loading. If near by and wish to see truck, contact me to set up a time. Payment in full with cash or cleared funds must happen before title and truck is released to shipper or buyer. On Jul-27-16 at 07:46:23 PDT, seller added the following information:Owner's manual and service manual will be included (handy items to have).
