Ford Model T 1926 Description
The car should be considered new in that I have fabricated it from scratch and therefor has no registration or license. Note that both engine and frame (VIN) numbers were the same on cars in that era.The engine number is 12917137 so this number is also stamped on the right hand frame rail fwd of the firewall. The car is approximately 75-80 percent complete and therefor is not yet in running condition but the engine was running when removed from a 1926 coupe. Please note that most of the bits and pieces to complete the car are boxed and set aside which are included. Buyer will require the necessary skill set, tools, ambition and equipment in order to complete this project. The frame was fabricated using 2x3 in. .020 wall rectangular tubing. The body in turn was formed from 3003 H14 aluminum sheetmetal and formed over a 1/2 in round steel tubing structure. Running gear consists of a 1926 engine with a Z high compression head a winfield carb, a 280 cam (yet to be installed), a Bosch distributor setup plus both starter and generator fully rebuilt and finally the exhaust is thru a custom header, muffler and tailpipe. Then on thru a drive shaft shortened 8 inches for engine setback in frame, then to a rebuilt Ruxtell rear axle well modified with new 4340 steel axles, and other modifications such as a 3:1 ring and pinion new bearings, bushings etc.. Moving outboard the axles run thru full floating safety hubs. then capped off with powder coated model T wire wheels with brand new tires tubes and flaps. Spare wheel not coated and no tire. Both front and rear axles feature split wishbones. The front axle has all new spindle bushings, bolts and oilers. The front axle also incorporates two fabricated friction shocks. Throw in a fatman steering wheel and a rare peerless brass radiator. There are many more construction features to describe than there is room here to discuss. When complete this car will get a lot of attention, believe me. Contact me for any questions. Full payment is due in 7 days with balance in cash before pickup. car is sold as is with no title but a bill of sale will be provided. Local pickup only. Buyer responsible for any shipping arrangements. Feel free to e-mail me at lopocko@charter.net or phone contact 541-467-7456. I am a first time seller but I do have a buyer reputation
