Ford Falcon 1963 Description
This car belonged to my wife's grandfather. I had hoped to restore but have been unable to do that and hate to see it deteriorate any further. I had someone who has rebuilt a Sprint look at it. He said that in his opinion the doors and quarters either need to be replaced or repaired due to rust damage and that it also needs a floor pan. I really don't know what it needs. I do know the drivers floorboard is rusted through. The radiator is missing. Some bondo repair. I do not know which parts are original to the car and which ones have been replaced except for the drivers door. The drivers door apparently came off a convertible at least that's what the numbers on the ID plate indicate. I have been unable to find a correct VIN. It is not on the shock tower brace. I also unbolted the drivers fender and looked underneath the top edge and did not see a number. I sent the 1984 tag number to the state of Alabama requesting a vehicle registration or a VIN. They both called and sent a letter stating that it was too old to be in their system. Irecently had kneesurgery and don't really want to jack the car up and go looking on the frame. Without the VIN# I can't be 100% positive that this is a Sprint. It could possibly, though not likely, be a Futura that someone made into a Sprint with Sprint parts but that seems like a lot of trouble to me. In the state of Alabama you don't need a VIN# for a car this old (see letter), just a bill of sale.As you can see from the pics, it looks like all the chrome is there. The motor is a V8. I don't know what size and if it was running when parked. Bucket seats. Falcon emblem on glove compartment. I really don't know anything about the condition of the car other than what you can see in the pics. I do not have a key and cannot open the trunk. I didn't realize that the hood was partially openwhen I took the pictures. It does close all the way with no problem. If you are looking for a Sprint to restore or Sprint parts this looks like a good place to start.
