Ford Model A 1930 Description
As the title says. Up for sale is a 1930 Ford 5 window coupe project.
Frame. The frame was made in WI. By JR’s rod shop. I bought it new years ago. It’s fully boxed, chrome four link front and rear, discs up front with louvered covers, drums in the rear with proportioning valve, mini booster, and short chrome shocks up front, adjustable coil overs in the rear. Panard and front stabilizer bar as well. The frame has been molded and painted black. 165/80 R15 on halibrands in the front. New. Also new Hoosier Pro Street 29X12.50R15Lt on halibrands in the rear. The front has a chromed and drilled 4†dropped straight axel.
Drivetrain. 350 out of a 70’s truck (ran fine). Ribbed valve covers, high flow fuel pump, Chrome water pump and one wire alternator with polished pulleys. New Edlebrock carb and victor Jr. manifold that’s polished. Edlebrock thumper cam that’s also new. Hei ignition. New. Oil pan is polished and finned. Chrome mini high output starter. Coated lake pipes that go under the car into glass packs then dump. Custom motor mounts, braided dipsticks etc.
The tranny is also out of the truck. It’s a turbo 350 with new seals, custom Denny’s driveshaft, Lokar high shifter with push button lockout. The trans and booster covers are also polished and finned. I don’t know what the stall is.
The rear end is a chromed and narrowed Ford 9†that has new axels and a limited slip posi third member that I can’t remember that ratio.
It spent most of it’s life with me in the corner of my garage. I had to leave it outside for two day in the beautiful Phoenix weather. Of course it rained so there is some surface rust on the rotors and exposed metal. Just sayin..
Now on to the body. The good part is it’s all steel and no rust. Original ’40 Ford.
The grill shell and insert are new (repo) and ’32 Ford The radiator is new Aluminum with trans cooler, polished overflow tube, new headlights and signals.
The body has a 4†chop and has been channeled 3â€. The floor is 12-14 ga. Steel. All glass is in. I have the inner moldings somewhere. I have to search. The doors have the hinges relocated on the inside.
The body is rough. The chop job is shit. It has high spots and low spots. The deck lid doesn’t fit properly. The door chop on both sides is shit. It needs bodywork and paint.
I have most of the interior. The dash has been airbrushed but needs to be color sanded and buffed. It has auto meter gauges.
It has a new flaming river chromed gm type colum, banjo chromed and leather wheel with a 4†polished drop. I’m pretty sure all the linkage is stainless. It has a Vega box. All the glass is new but the door windows don’t roll properly because of the cop job.
A lot of the chrome is old unless I stated new. It’s not flaking but tarnished. Maybe could be brought back with some mother’s and elbow grease?
This is a PROJECT with a lot of the hard and costly stuff done. If you want it perfect you have to address the body. Exp. Body man, no problem. Back yard guy? It might take a while.
Oh it has a complete wiring harness in the car. Has to be wired. Need a fuel tank and battery box.
I have a box of odds and ends. Seat belts, moldings as stated before, maybe some switches etc. All I can find goes with it,
It has a clear WI. Title. It is titled as a 1930 Ford Coupe. I’m in AZ. now but am from Wisconsin.
As usual this car is being sold as is where is with no warranties or guaranties implied. You are responsible for pickup or shipping.
That’s about all I can think of now. $15,000 FIRM. No trades.
Try to find another one.
