Ford Galaxie 1965 Description

You're looking at big everything - big luxury, ig engine, nd big completed restoration. This 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible is a concours-level car for less than $38K.The Ford Galaxie cars are really starting to come into their own on the classic car market. These cars were truly the full-sized Fords that followed the idea of 'lower, ider, onger' as far as it could even placing the headlights and taillights as far in the corners of the body as possible. The result was a design that was uniquely Ford and uniquely the 1960s. Caspian Blue is one of those dynamite factory colors that was rare when new, nd now has matured into a shade that is quite contemporary. Of course it doesn't hurt that we can count this re-spray's age in months. It was part of a full rotisserie restoration that was completed less than a year ago, nd the car comes with a full photo book documenting this Galaxie's frame off rebuild. The result is a convertible that has been described as "flawless" by many of us in the office. And the amount spent to get it there is tens of thousands more than the asking price.Inside you'll really know that this car has only had 200 miles on it since full restoration, ecause it feels like a factory-fresh time machine from behind the wheel. In fact, he carpets are so clean and soft you'll want to take off your shoes before entering. The factory-correct two-tone blue vinyl is intricately amazing, ight down to the button pattern in the seats and door panels. A two-tier dashboard puts the speedometer and AM radio up high where they're easy to see, hile the secondary controls are in their own pod just below. There's even the correct add-on A/C unit mounted below the dashboard. While it looks period-correct, his is the one part of the car that has been updated during the restoration. Behind the scenes it now runs on R134a for easier servicing. The whole package is topped off (literally) with a new white power folding roof.Pop the hood and you'll see that this big engine bay has been consumed with big block power. This is the car's correct Z-code 390 cubic-inch V8 borrowed from the Thunderbird program. It's been dressed nicely with the chrome air cleaner, ut overall it feels exceptionally authentic, ight down to the engine decals, nd the " Ford" valve covers. A motor this large has no trouble giving this full-size Ford some real get-up-and-go, nd the dual exhaust makes a powerful sound without losing this car's cruising attitude. That's really how to view this drop top Galaxie 500. It's a power steering car, ith a three-speed automatic transmission and disc brakes up front. So, t has the power to race in between the stoplights every Friday night, ut it's really more comfortable taking everyone on to the Saturday cruise-in.You're looking at a vintage Ford that has every feature, ncluding air conditioning for top-down fun in the middle of summer. It's an amazingly restored classic convertible (like new) for less than the price of most new ragtops. Call today!!
