Ford Mustang 1965 Description

1965 Ford Mustang BARN FIND!! Runs, drives, stops, has CLEAN TITLE and is ready for TLC!!Bought this at an estate then got the car running, driving and stopping and now it's time to pass it on as a solid project car. It's a solid car with some rust and evidence of previous rust repair. Frame rails and trunk drop-off are solid. Floor pans have some holes in the passenger side that have been patched. Quarter panels appear to have been replaced years ago and appear solid. Doors have rust bubbles along the bottom of each.
First, the car has an unusual double VIN stamp on the inner fender. For those of you who know old Mustangs, someone might know what the deal is with that. I've owned and seen many and have never seen this before. I took a picture so you can see it up close. The title matches the top VIN and the car is a 5 lug car, so my guess is it came from the factory that way. If anyone knows any different explanation, please let me know. I'm not interested in conspiracy theories since if there was some VIN tampering, it happened LONG ago and does NOT affect the title. The door tag is missing so unfortunately that can't be used to match things up.
Now for the condition:
Interior is complete but needs some repair and good cleaning. Headliner needs repair or replacement. Door panels and inner doors look pretty good.
Engine runs ok but needs a tune up. It does show 50 pounds of oil pressure on the gauge in the car. We're not sure of the engine size but we think it's a 302 from a mid-70's Ford based on some of the things on it. We could not find the Ford part number on it without taking some parts off, and we chose not to.
Transmission shifts into all gears including reverse.
Exterior has many scratches and a few small dents which I tried to photograph.
We have done a little work to the car to get it running, driving and stopping, which includes:
Installation of NEW gas tank and sending unit, NEW 4 barrel intake, NEW distributor, NEW master cylinder, NEW fuel pump and NEW oil pump. The alternator has been replaced with a used one we had on hand.
We also rebuilt the Holley 4 barrel carburetor and it's working pretty good.
Electrical will need some work as it is missing things like a light switch, radio and quite a few other things. The ignition switch does work and it will start the car.
I have tried my best to describe this car as far as we know. We bought this car at an estate auction last fall and got it running and that's about it. As for history, mileage, or anything specific other than what you can see, we just don't know. The reserve has been set at a very reasonable level so the new person can have some room to work on the car. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. And please don't waste our time if your just "kicking the tires." I only do this for a hobby and I'm not able to spend a lot of time with this. BUT, if you are serious and you do want the car, please by all means feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to send more pictures, videos, etc.
Of course, there is no warranty expressed or implied. This car is sold as-is, where-is. A $500 deposit is due at the conclusion of the sale via paypal and the balance due within 7 days in person in cash.
