Mercury Cougar 1967 Description

Completely restored and modified 1967 Mercury Cougar Coupe. A professional ground-up restoration was completed in May 2012 on this rust-free southern car. The car has only been driven 1,408 miles since the full restoration.
The car was stripped to bare metal, epoxy primer was used, then a custom Blue base coat / clear coat paint was applied. A functional ram air hood scoop was installed. The Black interior is all new with the bucket seats embroidered with blue Cougar script. Sound deadening material was installed on the floor & inside the trunk. Blue lighted Dakota Digital gauges were installed in the dash. CD stereo with a power antenna was installed. The vacuum operated headlight doors were converted to electric motors and work flawlessly. The famous factory sequential taillights operate properly as well. The original front & rear bumpers were re-chromed.
The engine is a completely rebuilt 1970 Ford 302 C.I. with aluminum 4bbl intake manifold, high lift camshaft, roller rockers, headers, MSD ignition & Edelbrock aluminum valve covers. Rebuilt Ford C-4 3-speed automatic transmission. Limited slip rear axle with 3.73 gears.
Some of the new performance parts include: B&M shifter, manual rack & pinion steering, new front end bushings, welded-on rear traction bars, 4-wheel power disc brakes with 4-piston calipers, KYB performance gas shocks, dual exhaust w/ Dynomax mufflers & trunk mounted battery.
There are Ford Mustang GT factory 17" aluminum wheels with new 245/45ZR17 Goodyear Eagle GT Tires all around.
This car runs, drives and handles awesome. This is not my car, I am listing it for a relative. He said the only issue is some engine smoke just after start up that clears up quickly, he believes it needs valve seals. Please call me with any questions or to schedule an in-person inspection @ 978-360-9898. He would prefer to sell it locally, but will assist in shipping if necessary.
