Mercury Comet 1964 Description
1964 Mercury Comet Clyclone-- One owner for 55 years; Incredible documentation and believable low 55k miles!Purchased new on September 5. 1964 in Bellevue Washington. this car was lovingly cared for by its same original owner for the next 45 years. After that it remained in a collection. The meticulous paperwork tells the rest of the story. It is now stored in a climate controlled garage. The original interior with very little wear remains with the sharp polar white exterior. How many people have a transmission rebuild. and go back to the repair shop every year for the next 20 to get it serviced and keep up the warrantee? This original owner did! How many folks take the window sticker and put it in a safe place? This car has it. along with the original bill of sale. repair records. nbsp;and registrations throughout the years. I have never seen a Cyclone with an in-tact window sticker; not ever. The car has had routine maintenance. an older outstanding paint job . and rechromed bumpers and terrific looking chrome. I have added Pertronics. a new 600 Holley carb. plugs. wires. distributor cap. fuel pump. nbsp;water pump. belts. hoses. clamps. serviced the transmission and replaced the windshield to make it look showroom new. I recently added a monte- carlo bar to stiffen the ride in turns. There are no rattles or squeaks in this car. and I'd hear them as the car has a radio delete factory panel and no radio. I've taken the door panels off and made the mechanisms better than new with guides and adjustments. It has won trophies for it's originality and condition. The MC at a show said. "People love it because there are so few of them around. and even fewer in this shape. "This car has no rust. and the undercarriage is amazing. Runs super strong and the three (3) speed automatic shifts perfectly. Even the original dash tachometer works. The engine has never been out of the car. I replaced the valve covers and gaskets with the best blue neoprene type available. The car should be seen. nbsp;and I guarantee you will be excited about it. I welcome you to view it. send a mechanic. appraiser. or other expert before you bid. Please do not bid unless you have all the funds available to pay for it. The car is sold as-is where-is; and I reserve the right to end the auction early for a local sale. The car is stunning not in a nut-and-bolt restoration. but in a careful refresh. This is truly a rare find!
