Oldsmobile Starfire 1962 Description
If you are a fan of these beautiful cars, hen you certainly realize how rare it is to find a factory A/C convertible, ith power windows! Once restored, hese cars are absolutely gorgeous (not to mention they can easily go for $30K-$50K).
The car is complete with all interior and exterior parts and trim included (except for original style wheel covers), ut clearly needs restoration to bring it to the beautiful condition it deserves. What is not in the pics, s in the trunk (which is enormous), ith the exception of the bumpers (removed and solid, included in sale). There is also agood variety of extra trim parts, ieces, etc. in the trunk. There's probably a small eBay fortune of extra parts that can be sold after completing the restoration. I am not parting these additional parts out, o please do not contact me with such requests. It all goes as one package.
The body will need some work in the lower panels, s expected for a car of this age. You could either fabricate/patch, r patch in some panels from a '62 Eighty-Eight or Starfire (you can find them online from parts yards). That is honestly the hardest part. The rest is pretty straightforward (e.g., reshen up the interior, aint exterior, ew top). The engine ran strong when put her away in storage. That 394 has got some torque. It could probably use a good carburetor cleaning andnew battery after sitting. The gentleman I purchased the car from out in Arizona had gone through theunder body mechanicals (e.g., ubber, uspension, rakes). I've restored other '62 hardtops before. These older cars are pretty easy to get around, airly straightforward.
Background: I bought the car about 3 years ago, ith the intention of restoring it after I recovered from Super Storm Sandy. That recovery ended up being much longer and exhausting than expected. My current circumstances (job, ersonal life) do not allow for the time and energy required to get into the restoration now. Feel free to message me questions and/or contact info to further discuss any details.
Payment:$500 due within 48 hours of bid ending, ith the balance paid in full prior to pickup of the vehicle. I would prefer cash, ertified bank check, r money order, ut am not opposed to paying the Paypal fees on my end, f it's what the buyer prefers. Irespect the security and peace of mind that Paypal offers some folks.I will not accept a promise or a personal check.
Shipping: Shipping is not included. Although the motor ran strong when I put the vehicle in storage, wouldn't bank on driving it home. I'd recommend having it shipped or trailered to your destination. I've had very good success with UShip.com in the past transporting a variety of vehicles. Just my two cents. I'll work with the buyer on meeting the shipper that the buyer arranges.
