RARE Quadruple black - Black paint, lack vinyl top, lack vinyl interior and Black stripes. This is one of less than 10 produced (per Mike Hamilton)440 4BBL Cuda's as a hardtops with automatic transmissions in quadruple black for 1970.
You are viewing one of the nicest and most rare Mopars you will ever see.A REAL Quadruple black 1970 Plymouth 440 Cuda. All numbering matchingmotor, ransmission, ata tag, oor sticker, owl and radiator support. This is only one of VERY FEW (less than 10) 440 4BBL Cuda's produced with Black vinyl top, lack interior, lack stripe and black paint. Per the 2nd owner, t has all original sheet metal and absolutely no rust. It is one of the most solid and straight surviving Cuda's in the country, ith just over 19k DOCUMENTED ORIGINAL MILES. This Cuda runs extremely strong! Here’s the history: The first owner purchased the Plymouth in Moorhead, innesota and drove it on the street until 1974. It was then drag raced (See photo) until 1979, hen parked in a heated garage until the second owner purchased it in 2001. The last, nd third owner, urchased it and completed a minor restoration, ith items such as heaterand parking brake needing to be finished. We have copies of motor vehicle titles from the first and second owners. We have numerous receipts and an article about it “back in the day”, n the E-Body Mopar Club of America mailer.
An in depth inspection of this car was done by Michael Hamilton (A Mopar Expert) at Veits Vettes in Bettendorf Iowa. His findings support the authenticity/originality of this car and are included with the sale.
Here is the fender data tag breakdown:R11 – AM Radio, 6X – Black hockey stripe, 05 – Built to US Specs, 6-26” Max Cooling Radiator, N1 – end of codes, 21 – Chrome Drip Rail mldg, 25 – Body Sill mldg (fish gills), 31 – Body mldg (top of doors), 88 – Body Deck mldg Treating, 41 – Dual Exhaust, 42 – Chrome Exhaust Tips, 1x – Vinyl Top – Black, 23 – 2 door hardtop Cuda, OB – 440 4 BBL 1970 Cuda. Numbers stamped on pan rail boss match VIN. Engine numbers stamped on Boss include: F440 Maltese Cross – u/s undersize bearings on crank, iamond - .020 Oversize Pistons, orrect 971 oil pan and 77 coin w/skid plate on the k frame, 56 radiator is still there, 1 7 – Built November 7, P2 – High performance block. There is a roman numeral X next to the Maltese cross and there is a 6 stamped in the rough castings of the block below the ID pad on the drivers side. A36 – High performance Package, emi suspension, ¾ (489 case) rear end w/355 gears not installed, urrently a Dana 60 with 4:10 posi traction Chrysler 3400# super stock springs (3690460) and shackle set max cooling 7 blade (216) torque fan with Chrysler 330 shroud. B51 – Power Disc Brakes with correct 1970 booster retaining factory inspection mark, 16 - Center Console, 55 – Buckets, 45 – Hood Pins, X9 – black Exterior Paint, 6X9 – Black Vinyl Seats, 09 – Build date November 9, 969, 72853 – Dealer Order Sequence Number, 86 – 440 4 BBL, 75 HP, 32 – 727 Automatic Transmission, tamped PK3410670 3009 7024. Many original parts are included front sway bar, ir cleaner, eads (casting 23843906), ntake manifold (casting 2951736), riginal wiper motor 077, riginal instrument panel comes with car, an original rally dash was purchased at the Mopar Nationals and is currently installed). The interior is all original with the exception of recovered seats and new carpet. ALL Chrysler stamped tempered glass is in the car. Even has Chrysler (520394854 A) rear shocks still on the car.The bright work on this Cuda is excellent untouched originals.Currently this Cuda has 25 inch lanyards not the 18 inch correct ones,Some non stock parts like coil, lug wires, ater pump, iming chain, ibration dampener and dual pump Holley carb are installed but can easily be put back to stock specs. Without to much trouble if desired. Documented 19,161 miles since new.
Additional notes are: Ball joints, enter link, ie rod ends, dler arm, orsion bars, nd pitman arm all appear to be original with inspection marks there including undisturbed cotter pins, allast resistor, riveshaft #2781928 w/loop, ll Chrysler stamped body plugs, rake calipers #95020 A, riginal bumpers w/only slight hazing, reshened up, riginal dash pad with only 4 repairable cracksat the speaker area, original 1970 grille, ewer turn signal lenses, riginals come with car, xcellent vinyl top, riginal splash guards are still in place retaining the over sprayed undercoating, riginal interior panelsin excellent condition, orrect 1 year only 1970 console, 969 date coded Pontier seat belts in front, his car has the original space saver spare, illing canister, orrect 101 jack hook, riginal taillightwiring and housings, riginal door handles, eproduction trunk mat, ew 15 inch Rally's and brand new tires mounted, any other factory inspection marks are still intact as are some factory wiring labels. Car has newer brake lines and fuel lines already installed. Road lamps are installed but not hooked up due to some minor wiring changes previously made. Missing is the jack, ent cable, eater motor and box, runk light, hock covers, ll these minor items can be readily purchased at dealers or swap meets.
