Pontiac Firebird 1969 Description
1969 Pontiac Firebird - This car has undergone a rotisserie restoration. It still could use final paint, trim and interior work but otherwise is 100% road worthy and I have been having a little fun now and then using it as is for the past few years so I never bothered to finish it. All the metal work has been done and the car is totally filler free and straight. I replaced the quarters, fenders, door skins, hood and everything left got refinished. Other than a couple minor adjustments needed to the nose and hood (hinge), you can see how straight the body is from the pictures. Sub-frame connectors have been welded in place and the car has a new suspension, slotted 4 wheel power disk brakes, power steering, all new lines, stainless steel exhaust system and all new wiring, lights, etc.The current paint is a matte type finish and was applied just to keep the body protected after the metal work was done. The car is road ready and totally a blast to drive, a real muscle car in every sense of the word - it is a serious BEAST but tuned for street driving. The 400 hp+ engine was custom built for this car. it is a non numbers matching Chevy small block 400 hi-performance motor with 350 heads, 202 valves, a high energy Competition Cam, solid lifters, hi -performance polished manifold and holly carb. Transmission is a Muncie M-21 4 speed. This is a great deal for some to get into a restored car for a fraction of the cost. Jump in and finish what I started - all the hard work is already done. Now just choose your colors and finish it or use it as is. Some history on the car - it came out of california and spent most of its life in texas. By the time it made it to the north east, it was still rust free underneath but the body panels had seen better days. The car had spent some time with the previous owner using it for racing and that is where the motor came from. When I restored the car, I had the motor pulled, tore down and rebuilt it but it was in very good shape as the previous owner took care of it properly, same with transmission. The body was put on a rotisserie and the under carriage was fairly rust free. It was totally stripped and refinished with epoxy paint for durability. I have owned the car for the past 11 years. It was a drive rwhen I bought it as a minor restoration project that got out of hand and turned into a full restoration about 9 years ago. It got to wear it is now about 4 years ago and pretty much has been sitting in my garage since. I occasionallytake it out for a little exercise and maintenance. It has very little mileage (like under 500) after having it rebuilt. The car is fun as is and I have no desire to finish it any longer. Due to family priorities and lack of interest it is time to let it go to someone with a little more passion for things Fast and Loud!
