Studebaker Lark 1963 Description

You are bidding on a VERY ORIGINAL 62k miles car with all numbers matching drivetrain. EVERYTHING WORKS!!! The horn, he heater, he wipers, he lights, ven the dome light! REBUILT ENGINE AND TRANS ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. All new brakes and new dual chamber master cylinder. Tires good all around. No dryrot. Car starts right up and runs very smoothly! GREAT OIL PRESSURE!!! Approximately 60psi at idle. Engine runs cool, o overheating. HEATER WORKS GREAT!!! No fluid leaks at all!!! Car RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT!!!! No squeaks or rattles.Steering seems tight. Brakes stop smoothly and with no pulling. Interior is fair. As you can see EVEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS IN GOOD SHAPE considering it's age!! The dashtop is a padded vinyl top and only has on small crack near the speaker cover. Will need seats to be recovered and the headliner repaired at the last seam over the back seat. That seam has split and will need at least to be resewn. This car had hand made slip on seat covers on both front and back seats that had been installed many many years ago but the one on the back seat has been cut away to expose the original upholstery. The front one has worn away on the drivers side but is still intact on the passengers side. The original upholstery has cloth inserts with vinyl around the edges and that cloth has begun to split and deteriorate. There is enough still intact though to match up to new material and to use as a pattern template. There was a rust hole in the drivers floor pan but that was cut out and has been replaced with a new remanufactured floor pan and welded in place. All of the rest of the floor pans are in good shape as is the trunk pan. There had been some rust in the eyebrows above each headlight and also behind each front wheel and those areas were ground out, anded and filled with plastic then the car was sanded and quick sprayed with primer sealer and refrigerator white paint. (Was sprayed with an auto paint sprayer, ot a rattle can) This was done because the original green paint had worn away on the hood, oof and trunk and it was beginning to get a thin layer of surface rust. The primer sealer and white paint were applied to stop that rust and prevent any further rust damage. There is NO RUST or ACCIDENT DAMAGE ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE CAR that I can find!!! The rear quarters are all original steel and have no filler in them at all!! THIS IS A VERY STRAIGHT ORIGINAL CAR!!! The bumpers are in decent shape but could use rechroming. All of the trim is straight, ntact and on the car.
The best I can tell this car has been off the road since 1989. I was told this car came from Virginia and had been the daily driver of the original owner until he decided to take it off the road in 89 and parked it in a garage until he passed away in the late 90's. The car then became the possession of his son who never re-registered it and when he took possession of it he parked it outside until he sold it less than a year ago. The person I bought it from got it from the original owners son and he titled it in Maryland.
This would be a great winter project and with a little TLC could be ready for the show circuit or your local cruise in this SPRING!!! The way it runs and drives you could enjoy driving it to your cruise in's while you work on it!! NEEDS NO MAJOR MECHANICAL WORK!!! Mostly cosmetic!!
